I bought a mini uzi on a group purchase. Paid for it in Feb. The form 3 went pending April 7th. It just showed up at the dealer today. Form 4's go in this weekend. Then we we wait some more.

Wow! What the hell happened to cause a form 3 to take so long???

That is unbelievable Omega Man! At any rate, I'm glad to hear the gun is at your dealer and all is well. Hopefully your wait won't be as long this go around.

Ahhh. Good things come to those that wait:)

Have you caught up on accessories to pass the time?

Omega

I don't know if they date code F3's when they come in at the ATF, but Form 4's usually have a stamp at the top. Usually it's PD XXXYY where XXX is the Julian date (001 through 365 or 366) and YY is some mysterious number assigned to your forms (maybe it IDs the person doing the processing). I assume PD stands for processing date or some such thing.

So, you may want to ask your transfer dealer to look for such a stamp and if it exists, it would closely approximate the date the form came into the ATF.

If it ain't February, the selling dealer was probably derelict. Otherwise, blame the Feddys.

According to SAR, the YY portion is a sequential number sequence per examiner. Every day, each examiner starts with YY=01 and it increments by one for each form they do that day.

You meen some days they do more than one form. Who would have guessed it. I bought my Vector on April 15, 2002. Still waiting. I think it will make it before Christmas. At least I expected it to get complicated. Its a race now to see if I get the Uzi or the Shrike first.
