Does anybody have a source for new springs and/or followers for the 50 rd. mags? I have 4 of 'em and none will feed in my Vector(it's not equipped w/the semi auto ramp, if that would help)and do not want to sell 'em off cheap, if that's the problem. I suspect it might be, as they are pretty spongy, w/o much tension when loading these mags.
TIA,

No one has been able to get them to work. Sorry Tungsi

I've got the 4, posted FS, which I might as well delete, but I'm going to see if Craig Wheatley of Tactical Innovations might have 4 of the 50 rd GG springs for sale, as my MAC 10's 50 rd mags in .45 run w/o a hiccup. The GG spring might be a wee bit to big for the Uzi mag body, tho. Or I could get a little smarter & buy a drum or some 40 rd'ers from Vector. :marines

Maybe you can find a Wolff spring to work or have Wolff make some for you. www.gunsprings.com they respond to email questions.

But it would be a waste of time and money if the mag is USA brand.

When they are welding mags together to get a larger capacity, I was told the best way is to take 2 of the smaller springs overlap the about 2 turns and use a copper crimp. The copper crimp is a piece of maybe 1/8 inch copper tubing. Slip it over the spring where it overlapped in one or two spots and crush it with good crimpers.

I have a handful of 50 also. And they aren't worth crap either. I couldn't even get them loaded.

If you read the link above, I posted my past observations. To somewhat go over them again, the tolerances were horrible and there was too much space in the mag "front to back". After 20 rounds or so were loaded, this was very detrimental, as the extra space allowed everything to get pushed downward, rather than angled upward. The supposed remedy to the problem, was "squaring it" in a vise. Essentially this would get rid of some of the extra space. If you had a way to even put some sort of metal or anything along the whole front edge of the mag, going the entire length down, you might could get rid of the spacing problem. See if you can load one up fully, and tell if this non-angled effect from everything being pushed down and forward is present. If that is the case, you could try to fix that....but all I can say is good luck. I gave up and bought 40's.

and I guess my next move will talk w/Wolff Springs and if they can't help, I'll try the crimping the springs method.
Nothing done-Nothing gained, except Tannerite filled $25 targets for my M-14E2, of which I can find other cheaper containers for targets. Hope it doesn't come to that, as I was reviewing what I'd paid for those mags, while my Vector Uzi was in 'transfer'-my wallet still hurts. I should've asked on this Board about 'em first, but w/all of this hindsight, I'm wearing rearview mirrors on my glasses now. :marines

Don't worry to much I bought some also. Didn't pay too much but I don't have the heart to throw them out. I couldn't even get mine loaded without jamming. Worse part was it took some looking to tell them apart from good mags.

I found a good home for my USA 50's. I traded 2 like new 50's for 2 used 30 and one used 20 USGI AR-15. I told the guy that I traded with that the 50's were junk, but he said he could make them feeed. I've never heard back from him so could be that he did just that. I hope that's the case.
