I've got about another 30 days of waiting on my form 4 for my new Vector Mini-Uzi but I was at my dealers place a few weeks back to try it out. It's awesome! I'm going to go broke buying ammo for it.

Anyone know if the standard recoil buffers (the rubber blocks that go in the rear of the receiver) fit in the mini? Do they change the ROF at all? Obviously recoil isn't an issue with this gun but I think they help reduce wear and tear.

What is the MINI not fast enough for you?  I have a MINI and full size and I'm trying to slow the MINI down.  The MINI's come with a buffer that is about a 1/2" thick.  It is made from a more rubbery material than the semi plastic type buffers you see for sale for the semi's.  Most people don't realize that there is a buffer in the MINI.  If you take your bolt and spring out and line it up the receceiver, you will see there is about a 1/2" left of space in the back.  Yes, you could take the one in there out and put a thicker one for a higher ROF.  You would have to cut a standard buffer down quite a bit to fit it in there as it is too long and you wouldn't be able to pull the bolt back far enough for the sear to catch the bolt.  I personally took that one out and put a small one of about 1/8" I made from gasket material in the back.  Then took a full size Uzi guide rod and cut it down as well as the spring to slow my gun down.  I have it running at around 1000 rpm.

Thanks for the info. I'm still in the painful waiting process for my Vector mini so I can't see any of this first hand - hence my questions. I'm glad to know there's a recoil buffer in the gun. As I mentioned, wear and tear was my primary concern. I figured that a buffer would affect ROF, which is why I asked.

ROF on the Mini is an interesting topic. The 1200 RPM performance out of the box certainly detracts from the controlability and one is tempted to slow it down. I was tempted by a rate reduction kit someone was selling on Sturmgewehr.com earlier this year. But in the end I decided I don't actually want to slow it down. I bought the Mini for two reasons. #1: I think the gun looks awesome in that size/configuration. #2: I wanted something that would give me a very different shooting experience from my MP5. The high ROF on the mini is a big part of that different shooting experience and I want to keep it that way.

I want to slow it down so I can use it in the subgun competitions.  I want to get singles out of it.  Rate reduction kit?  I've heard of MINI's that have been modified with tungsten inserts.  Please tell me more about that kit you saw for sale!!!
Thanks

Now that I think about it, it wasn't a kit being sold on its own. It was being sold along with a Vector mini. I asked the seller where he got it and he said it was something custom that Vector made up for him. I'd guess that they would make another one if someone asked but I never followed up on it. I believe he said it slowed down to the 900-1000 RPM range so it would be similar to what you already have.
