View Full Version : So, how much money do you have tied up in accessories?
I was on the way to work this morning thinking about stuff I want to buy for the mac m11/9 I have on the way. I'm thinking about getting a fancy slage upper for it that costs $550. This seems like a lot until I began to count up all the money I spent on uzi stuff:
12 32-round mags ------------------ $425
12 25-round mags ------------------ $250
6 40-round mags -------------------- $200
5 loading tools ----------------------- $40
5 croat mag pouches --------------- $75
1 parts kit ----------------------------- $175
4 spare barrels ----------------------- $125
Humphreys GG .45 conversion ---- $300
Vector .45 conversion --------------- $225
10 NIW GG mags --------------------- $150
Subgun case from CTD -------------- $40
5 semi buffers from CDNN ---------- $25
vertical grip from Vector ------------- $60
Grand total ---------------------------- $2090
And I'm sure I forgot something. Seems like a lot of money. Guess that since I acquired over time waiting for the gun (it took over a year) it didn't hurt so bad.
Have you guys spent this much on your uzis? What more do I need? I'm resisting a can so far.

I kinda lucked out IMO, because the guy I purchased my Vector from gave me a boat load of accessories. The only thing I have purchased for my Uzi is the subgun case from CTD for $21 shipped, and a coastal can for $100 shipped. I probably won't be buying anything but a 3-pack of Blackjack buffers for a long, long time.
7 32-round mags ---------------------------- $250
2 25-round mags ---------------------------- $50
Vector vertical foregrip --------------------- $60
Subgun case --------------------------------- $40
16-round speedloader --------------------- $20
Subgun case from CTD --------------------- $21
Coastal Suppressor ------------------------- $100
The Vector cost me $4,000 with the above listed $420 in accessories included at no extra charge, and I'm pretty sure I'm missing something in w/ that list. I've spent a grand total of $121, and with the soon-to-be-ordered Blackjack 3-pack it'll put the grand total I've personally spent on my Uzi at a whopping $150. :angel3

Oh sure, and here's my checking PIN number while I'm at it ....
I get so many packages of ammo, AK/FAL mags, etc that she's immune to it. Doesn't even look. I tell her that I got a couple AK mags at $8 each.
The best one was when AIM mistakenly send me a Mosin Nagant rifle. It really was a mistake. I didn't order it. I did end up keeping it, but I don't think she ever bought the story even though it was the truth. Come on, if I was going to use that excuse, why waste it on a $80 rifle?
I tried to sneak the uzi around her, but she intercepted the form 4's on the way back from the Sheriff's in my mail and asked what "the hell is this handwritten package from the Sheriff's internal affairs department?". At that point I had to come clean. The form 4's from the Mac are headed to my office.

Exactly right. Keep the volume high so they get immune to it. I try to use that strategy.
Its those long rifle boxes I have trouble with.
God, if she only knew the extent of it all ....

P.S. How come no one has a stock on their list? I put the Vector Polymer one on my Christmas list.

I have three QD stocks - but no guns that they fit on. (Vector Mini, Semis, Pistol)

RoverDave,
I stopped by here by chance when I was doing some refresher/catch-up research while waiting for my Vector to transfer. I have come back almost daily to keep up on what may be new or to learn some more troubleshooting techniques for the UZI.
This board is one of only a few that doesn't have the wanton trolling and instigators that I find on some other boards. That is another thing that keeps me coming back.
Many thanks to the staff, and the others that make this board a good place to come to.

I live in central Prince William County and shoot at Shooter's Paradise in Woodbridge. They are C3-Friendly. I went pending on 9/24 so I won't have the Vector for a few more months but my dealer took me to shoot it once so far.
Due to the cost of the gun, I haven't had that much cash to spend on the accessories. I have are 3-32 round mags, two buffers and the BlackHawk case but my Christmas list resembles your accessory list. We'll see how nice Santa thinks I've been.

I learned early on that you can easily end up spending more on accessories than for the gun itself.
Some years back, I went to that one-time Great Western Gun Show in Las Vegas and dropped over $3000 on accessories. There was no money left to buy a gun!!

I don't have anything tied up in accessories.....my accessories have me tied up!:eek!
Even when I get a new semi-auto, I figure there's costs such as at least 10 mags, a bunch of ammo, a sling, possibly a scope and a case.
My uzi has been a whole new experience. 10 mags will no where near cut it. Spending over $2000 is kinda ridiculous considering the gun was $2750. I'm finding that my mac is headed in the same direction.
Hey SMG4me -- I've been to Shooter's Paradise. Its a decent range, but kind of a pain to get top for me since it involves navigating the mixing bowl construction (God, will they ever get that done). I've been going to Blue Ridge Arsenal near Dulles. Not as good of a range, but closer to me. What I'd really like to find is someplace outside to shoot at. Any ideas? If you want to try it converted to .45 acp, let me know.

I haven't yet found an outdoor range but I'm looking as well and I'll let you know if I find anything. I will definitely take you up on the 45 offer sometime.
