I'm bringing my 1911 and want some competition.........

I figure there will be plenty of time to shoot it between matches and the such.

Competition? Are we shooting for money or beer? Either way I am in. Take it easy on me though, I am new to this whole handgun thing:angel

AAAARGH! I just broke my ejector on my 1911! Not to worry though, my gunsmith buddy has one at his shop and we're gonna replace it this weekend. We'll make it beer since I'm gonna kick CAG's ass in the sniper rifle match we're gonna put together and the stakes there are beer/scotch.

Then again, maybe we should just do it for fun.......some of you might be better shots than me.

If he does not have one let me know, I probably have 3 or 4 sitting around. How the hell did you break one? Was it a commander length one? I have never seen a broken ejector before

jarhead jim
03-12-2008, 11:33 PM
Chili,
This one is about 1" long. It has 2 pins that hold it on, one in the front that is held in with a tiny drift pin and the rear one that broke. I just noticed it when I took it apart cleaning it tonite. My possum was messing with the pieces while I was cleaning it but I couldn't see any teeth marks on it so I assume I broke it this weekend when I put 450 rounds through it.

I'll get a hold of ya if Jeff doesn't have one. One way or another it WILL be running April 18th or so!

What's up Jim?

That ol' Colt of mine isn't anything special. They were made around '90-'91 or so in standard sized and Commander sizes too.Knew a guy that had the Commander type.Nice looking piece but couldn't hit a damn thing with it.

Look on Gunbroker and you might find some there.

When are you gonna be in town for the shoot?I'll be there Saturday and most likely Sunday for the shotgun deal.Gotta work Friday though.

See Ya Bud!!

Jim; I think you're forgetting the Uzi Talk event is being held in TEXAS, not some liberal infested state where guns are feared and hated. Many Uzi Talk members from other states have concealed weapons permits that are honored in Texas and they will naturally have their carry pieces with them.

I'd imagine you'll see a hand gun or two along with all the other cool stuff... ;)

Not my gun Doug, just found a photo and posted it.

There's been a lot of smack talk leading up to this event and it hasn't come from me. Heck, I can't shoot a handgun or a subgun, but I sure like wasting ammo. I'm all about the good time and great people.

Talking smack just makes those of us who talk it........look the fools we really are when we get our asses kicked at the range.

But like you guys mentioned, It's just as much fun shooting the breaze as it is shooting targets. We're gonna have a damned good time......I gaurantee it.

Guess everybody is gonna bring some kinda handgun. Lasy year I brought a MK23 w/can and a Desert Eagle 50AE, guess this year I'll bring those plus a 2nd Desert Eagle 50AE and a High Standard HD suppressed(very fun gun). Two Desert Eagle 50AE's is DEFINITELY a handful, believe me.

SGF, the Mustang is similar, but hers is the earlier MKIV/Series 80, simply marked "Government Model - 380 Auto". For those that don't know them, this is a neat family of pistols, they are practically a scaled down Gov't .45, making them one of the few .380 pistols to not be pure blowback. Great piece, she loves it. The girl's hands are so small she can't even properly shoot a CZ75.

Hey Guys,

How's everybody doing today?

Not wanting to hijack this thread but wanted to post here first so that it might be more "visible" I guess.if you're coming to Dallas next month, thought you might be interested in this.

Got a friend that has 8 50 round boxes total of 400 rounds of Rem.Golden Sabre .45 ammo.It was a bulk buy and he took the standard 25 rnd boxes and combined them into 50 round boxes in plain white cardboard boxes.
Will be happy to get a pic if need be,just ask and it's a done deal.

He's asking $31 for each box if all 400 (8 boxes)are purchased or $35 if just purchased individually.

I have nothing to gain from the sale of this ammo.Just trying to help my friend sell it and hopefully give my soon to be new friends a deal on some good stuff too.

If the moderators want to move to the ammo section, that's cool.Just wanted to get a little better viewing on this active thread.

Give me a shout at: sacaircom@yahoo.com

Thanks Guys and I'll see ya soon!!

The weekend of the UT shoot will be a full moon. In the interest of safety, each of us should surreptitiously unload the firearms carried by the girls. I will take responsibility for my sisters revolver and will leave my significant other at home.:)

Hey SubGunFan, sjw1978 is cool with you trying the Colt, but she wants to know what you've got to trade trigger time on. We're going to UT5 POV, so it's easy for us to bring ammo. She's really fond of M16s... :tongue

What kind of side-matches will there be at UT5? I will bring my submachine gun, but what else do I need to bring? Pistol? Shotgun? Precision rifle? Belt-fed machine gun? Rimfire?

Other than some sort of shotgun competition (possibly Jungle walk or other), there won't be competitions in the other categories you listed. However, they are all of interest to the attendees so you'll get plenty of onlookers even if there isn't a competition.

Yeah, you can always try the "how many rounds of '06 do I have to fire to hit that 'gong' at 440 yards with the open sights on my '03A3" game.

I think my shoulder is still bruised.

I'm pretty sure it would be best to bring a Precision belt-fed rimfire submachine shotgun pistol.
