Purchased an factory original German HK-91 /NIB/back in '95 from a private party.Reciever is stamped "ARL,Va.,Made in Germany,HK,Inc.,AO%xxxxx"
Paid about $1800 for it back then, has the telescoping stock, also. In 99.99 condition, has been a safe-queen for 13 years....Really want to kick myself in the ass 'cuz I went to a local FFL dealer after I acquired this in '95 ,and he had a registered auto-sear for sale in his safe for $1500,but 13 years ago that was too much cheese for me...(I see now that the registered sears are running 15K,wow...10 times the amount in '95)..Anyways,...I am open to Suggestions as to what I should/could do with my all-German safe-Queen....???Should I SBR-IT on a tax stamp,.try to sell it...(I cannot afford 15K for sear)...If SBR,....As I am thinking,do you guys have reccomendations and specific configurations as to a certain outfit to use that comes reccomended...???
Cheers

Also,I understand,in my limited purview of the aftermarket HK/91 series ,that as this gun (.308)..is German factory original, having been essentially banned from further import around 1986,(HKPro indicates only around 48 thousand or so actually made it into the country..???)...that this '91" is somewhat sought after 'cause the slots cut into the reciever are not blocked ,and readilly acccept the reciprocating/sliding A# stock,no..??...these "91"'s seem to be floating around 3-3.5 k in value.....I had originally been informed that they were the only eligible host-gun for registered auto -sear....I guess all that changed when all the spanish CETME parts kits became widely available, although I am hearing now that as of last July all parts-kits are no longer importable...

I would keep it and shot it. The HK 9x series of guns are very robust.

They generally sell for some where between 2100-2400 max.

The slots in the receiver that accept the A3 stock are not "sought after" as all of the 9x series rifles have that.

Congrats on owning a really nice rifle. :sniper

I would not SBR it or modify it. Keep it and pass it along to your kids . The 91 is a great rifle . By the way , the model 93 .223 poodle shooter is more desirable as alot less were imported . 91's go for $1800 to $3000 depending on shape and what comes with it. Yours is rare as it has the factory camo finish. Is it the desert or woodland type ? I have always wanted the desert one ......

I think I will just keep as is,shoot occasionally, and pass it on as heirloom,or whatever...This thread is closed.
