View Full Version : SP-89 FTE Problem
Has anybody else had problems with their SP-89 with failure to eject the empty casing? I did replace the extractor sping and the problem is still happening.
This is happening with my reloads and factory ammo. I'll get about three shot's fired and the next one will FTE the empty casing.

Is it a clone or a real HK?
If its real, then its usually your ammo or cheap magazines.
A real HK mag or POF mag should solve your problems.
If you have a frankenSP then there could be lots of problem spots.

I have had problems with the clone I got from a group in AZ, all I had to do to solve my problem was instal an hk ejector. The one that came in the gun had been ground where the bolt hits it at the rear enough that the bolt wasnt camming it up until it was aligned with the middle of the case so it never hit the rim as intended
Yes, it's the real deal. HK SP-89. Yes, I am using 2x POF magazines and the original 15rd HK mags.
Other question would be is how often do you have to change the extractor?
This happened before, so someone told me to replace the copper spring. Still FTE after installing the new copper spring that goes over extractor.
I did clean the gun both times before using.
I did try my reloads and some factory ammo, every third or fifth empty casing would get stuck/jammed.

you should be able to shoot thousands of rounds with no extractor spring problems, I have over 20k rounds on one of my mp5s, never replaced a single part .
are you using a reg trig pack or the original semi lower?
its quite common for the front edge of some of the FA trigger packs to tip down slightly allowing ejector to miss the case
Neo, I had a HK SP-89 that had at least 5k rounds never a problem and the had a sear before i bought it, I have used POF magazines with out a problem.
I would replace

maybe I mis-understood, are you having a failure to extract problem or a failure to eject?
Thank you everyone. I will try getting an extra extractor.
IC, what's the spring part for? PE57 is on my wish list, doing the "secret" thing....long story.
panaceabeachbum, I will fire four/five rounds, then click......an empty casing will be stuck in front of the bolt area...... I am using a semi HK lower S/F.

If you are going to the shoot in Ridgeland next weekend (27th) I could bring my SP89 bolt & trigger pack to try if needed.
Let me know
