Question About a Snap Cap on HK 91 ???

inserted a yellow plastic snap cap into the hk91 rifle.

cocked it, and let go the handle,
fired it and all seems well,
but after the yellow snap cap is ejected and i look at the back end, there is no indent pin mark from the firing pin in the center as usually i would see with any other rifle or handgun.

any thoughts on this ?

with a snap cap the "primer" is usally a harder material that is simply spring loaded. it's intended purpose is to lessen the hammer impact on the pin with dry firing. the snap cap "primer" shouldn't deform like that on a normal round.

though i know i still have not fired a live round through this hk91 rifle and have not yet had the bolt all apart since i truly do not know yet how to,

but i still feel that since the snap-cap is shaped like the actual physical live round it perhaps should have done so.

it is an all hard plastic one piece design with no inner spring, and so if the bolt was to fire then it should leave a mark in the center,

should it not ???
