I'm a big believer in Eotech scopes, I'm a dealer, and that's what I run on my MP-5. Since the Eotech's were designed for the M16 they are tall to co-witness the front sight. So I like the lowest mount which is the MFI. The B&T mount is excellent too. The Eotech, MFI combo has been in the winner circle at our local subgun matches many times.

I've seen many clones of the MFI and B&T mounts. Since they are all airsoft products from China the quality is very variable. The better ones are decent and half the price of the real deal. I use a clone mount on my clone MP5K because the top is not exactly to spec and the mount needed some modification to fit. Didn't want to Dremel the expensive mounts.

I think I want something to co witness I don't want a cheap mount at this point after 17k on the mp5 what's another 5-600$ for a good set up

I do have a micro aimpoint don't know how that would work

I was thinking just a m2 or m3 aimpoint
what would be the best receiver mount and optic mount as far as height to
co witness the best with front and rear sights

Aimpoint and B&T makes a mount designed to co-witness when used with the Aimpoint factory ring. This is about as low as a scope can get on an MP5.

This is the way to go. I have a MFI that I use too, but I like the low profile of this mount and the Aimpoint T-1. Best setup I've found.

so you use a micro ?

i was going to try to use a m68/ m2

i just got the MFI i was told this is the lowest is this not true
also if you get the aimpoint low enough to co -wit will the front site ring take up all of the glass in the aimpoint ?

if so would it be better to be a bit higher with out the co -wit so you don't have to look through the iron's all the time ?

this is what i have now MFI WITH a GGG mount and m68

Here's what I'm running...

I like the mirco and low mount (MFI is not the lowest). This one a B&T but I think someone else make it too. To me, the MFI and M2 (clone) are too high and the front site ring is obtrusive to the sight picture. I like the use the irons with the micro, but also have the dot there to help. It's hard to tell where exactly your eye would rest in relation to the rear site, this give you some idea as to the low mount and micro combo.

Sight picture is a matter of preference, but personally I don't like the clutter of iron sights in the view. The Eotech is tall enough to clear the iron sights. If I were using an Aimpoint I'd have a tall ring.

True that. To me, I hate the picture to be too high. It always feels like there is more recoil because my head isn't tight on the stock and bounces around. Even BUIS or an EOTech on a POF highrail (something like just a 1/4" higher) feels downright goofy. Having the iron sights in the way on the HK is annoying but, to me, it's better than being up in the air. On a AR platform, I'd take an unobstructed sight any day...which is so easy to achieve with flip-ups.

I run a 512 on my MP5 with the MFI mount. On an MP5K the 512 is too long so a 511 would be the choice for it.
