I know a guy selling a NIB one for 1500. It looks really nice, although it has a post ban compensator. Is it worth this price? I was thinking of trying to trade a few guns to get it.

REPLY: Does the post ban compensator unscrew off the barrel or is it fixed to the barrel. $1500 is a good price for a NIB preban gun. If the compensator is fixed I would not give that much. Hope this helps.

It has the small spot weld at the end, but it can unscrew if the weld is cut. I would just be looking for a GOOD ak to shoot. Would i be better off with a vector, or lancaster?

If the muzzle nut is welded on, it's likely not a pre-ban, and worth $700-1,000.
