I bought a couple of these for my Ak's. When I screwed them on they did not fit tightly on the barrel. Is this correct? There was still a half turn available but the retainer does not have a slot there and the devise would be upside down.
You can fix this by filing the bottom of the brake a hair at a time until it fits properly. They're all machined differently (and so are AKs), so some deviation like this is nothing to worry about.
If it doesn't bother you the way it is, it's really not much of a concern in the first place. (Personally, it bothers me!)

Note: I have tried the 74-type, Smith-Enterprsse muzzle brake, and the original slant comp on the AK-47 and I found they all performed the same in terms of muzzle rise, so I use the slant comp because it is shorter.

The recent article in SGN mentioned that the AK74 muzzle brake would increase the accuracy of the Chinese AK's, so I have a couple on order to try out.

The article in SAR is Why I chose to doe this as well. I have found older "gold" colored wolf to be the most accurate. Thanks for the replies!
