I was thinking of a Yugo M-70 Underfolder parts kit for a Norinco Underfoder I just bought. Anyone have any experience with these kits? Curious as to the general consensus of what the best quality underfolder kit is that's available on the market right now???

Thanks,
- Joe

I think the Yugos are some of the best built AKs out there. Only problem you hear with the kits is when the barrels are "sewer pipes."

Of course I've scrubbed a couple sewer pip barrels from Romy kits, and they turned out nicely...and shot fine.

If the barrel isnt an issue, the yugo kits are great.

The Polish kits are really nice . The Hungarian are also good. You can buy a decent kit for around $400 if you watch the boards.

+1 for Yugos, also wanted to mention that barrels are seen once in a while in case you get an unusable one. Although rebarreling adds substantially to the build price (unless you build it yourself).

I started building when the Yugo's were comming into the country in numbers. I think I've done 5 between fixed and folders.

I think it spoiled me! I now have a stamped fixed and underfolder, an RPK kit with receiver coming tomorrow, an M90 demill krink kit in a box, and a handful of milled kits. I'll be busy for a while. That's just the Yugo's.

The bores on most issued Yugo's look like crap, but don't sell yourself short. These can be cleaned up pretty well, especially if your good with some ammonia, a small battery charger or 9v battery, a metal rod and a couple corks.....

You are saying you are looking for a parts kit for the Norinco underfolder you bought? You may want to specify as to your reasoning here... Are you looking for parts for later replacement if something should break or wear out on your current rifle? or are you looking to build a complete rifle aside from your Norinco?

There are differences in the barrel dimensions between the Norinco and others that would make switching barrels out between different models a real pain in the ass. If you are wanting another complete rifle, then by all means get whatever you want, just do it soon.
