Just before the election I went to a local gun show and all the Fudds were looking to buy "One of them there AK rifles bein fore they ban em". Of course some of these same idiots marched out and two weeks later probably voted for Obama. Sure nice to profit off your own stupidity. Anyway I saw someone I knew and mentioned that I may be looking for another AK and asked if he had seen any. He said yeah, some guy down the way had some "of those ban AKs" on his table. I meandered over and found this:

Yep, SA-93s, new in the box, 500 cash and carry apiece. The Fudds passed them over for $600 WASRs with "them there bayonet lugs". The upper SA in the picture was on the table, the lower had never been out of the plastic. Interestingly, the upper has a serial number of 500, same as what I paid. Some days are just good.

I can't believe you found a deal at the gun show. There were shitty wasr at our local gun show going for $850 each! I almost vomitted in my mouth!

Sometimes the trick isn't searching harder, it's searching SMARTER.

Fine work!

It was definitely a strange show. This was in small town Missouri and the Fudds were everywhere. To make an ass of myself I walked around with my M11A1 slung with a for sale sign. Probably twenty Fudds tried to buy it and when I stated straight faced the price was 5000.00, their reactions were priceless. If I recall only one person recognized it as an nfa toy.

I wish I had brought my truck gun WASR. It would have sold in ten minutes. It still amazed me how many people passed over those two bulgys to buy crap Century Arms stuff.

It was also a sad show however. The economy is really starting to hurt the small towns. There were a lot of guys in there slinging stuff for cash only, no trades. I think more than one of them were there to get up the money for mortgage payments. I bought a like new stainless Marlin Guide Gun in 45/70 with a bunch of accessories and XS ghost ring sights of a guy for 400 cash and carry. I don't think he was happy about letting it go but he apparently needed the money.

nice score....bulgy made milled receiver, very nice. personally i prefer it to the arsenal sam-7

i do alot of "shopping" before i lay down my hard earned cash. seein' as i dun live in the big city we surely dont see many them AK guns 'round here much so most of wht i buy is sight unseen. even at the larger fun shows i have trekked out to the sticks to attend usually only stock 500$ wasr's and them $650 yugos. i waltzed around a show w a ORF bulgy aks74 w polish wood HGs...sure dun did git some attention but people laughed at me when i asked $700 for it even while they spent 475 on wasrs...

oh well, the "rarest" ak i have encountered at a show was a used sa95. it was beat up pretty bad and had funky HG's on it i played dumb and the seller told me how it was the best AK ever made and that id be stupid to buy anything else. the low price of 950 was a steal and he really shouldnt sell it that cheap. BTW, this was pre election. i was willing to step up to 700 or so...i asked him abou the odd Hand guards and he assured me that they were stock from factory even when i took them off and saw made in china stamped inside!!. oh brother...i guess the moral is-you get the deals if you know whats up , you get had if you dont
