The new Wolf ammunition is no longer coated with laquer. It has a polymer coating that is very uniform and clean.
They also stopped using the laquer sealant around the canelure of the bullet.
I shot a couple of boxes of the 62gr .223 yesterday and it also did not have that smell that their earlier ammo used to have.
I would say that this ammo is as accurate as the Lake city stuff I was shooting, and about half the price.
Its copper FMJ, not copper washed. Steel cased,
Fired from a 1:7 twist barrel, it performed very well. I'll certainly be buying a lot more of it very soon. At $100/1000 its a great deal.
Also fired some of the ARMSCOR .45acp ammo from a Thompson subgun and it worked extremely well. At $150/1000 from ammunitionstore.com its a real bargain.
I recommend both to anyone who shoots either caliber.
P.S. Don't blame me if you have a tight match chamber, thats your fault not mine. The stuff works in most "normal" guns.
