I've seen this book mentioned a few times. What got my attention recently was the fact that John Ross (http://www.john-ross.net), the author of Unintended Consequences (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1888118040/jeffcooksplace/103-8984764-2183037), has given it a favorable review (http://www.EnemiesForeignAndDomestic.com/reviews.htm).

I ordered a copy from Amazon yesterday, but have since discovered that signed copies are available directly from the author (Matt Bracken) on his site: Enemies Foreign and Domestic (http://www.EnemiesForeignAndDomestic.com/)

Hell yes it's interesting! But I would say that, wouldn't I? Well don't take my word for it, read the review by John Ross.

It's great to see the author take the time to become a member here. Your book is next on my reading list.

Thanks Cookie! I hope you enjoy the book. You know, I received a free postcard-sized EFAD cover reproduction for each book, made from the cover material cut-off. If you (or any readers) want a signed cover postcard to go into your unsigned books, just send me an email at steelcutter48@yahoo.com . I'll be glad to shoot you a signed cover card.

I'm on Page 264, and am impressed with Matt's story so far.

Here's an Enemies Foreign and Domestic (http://www.enemiesforeignanddomestic.com) banner you can add to your sites. Let's support a fellow Second Amendment activist and help him spread the word.

If you haven't ordered a copy, I'd recommend that you do so today. If you get it from Matt's site, he'll even autograph it for you.

Two copies on the way from Amazon.com now.

I'm sure it is a "can't put it down read". I'm looking forward to jumping right into it as soon as it arrives. The other is a gift for a friend.

Thanks Matt.....I'll send you some stamps as my contribution to the cause.

Yesterday I was on the Charles Heller "America Armed and Free" radio show for an hour! It was my first radio interview on a 'real' station. (KJLL 1330 in Tucson) I don't know if anybody heard it, but they have an archive of programs. The whole 2 hour show is dedicated to promoting the RKBA! I wish this weekend show could get syndicated. Heller is a pretty well known host, he's having Ollie North on next Sunday.

I got your books today, and its just as I figured....this is a "can't put it down read". When I arrived home this morning from the firehouse I had several goodies waiting for me on the kitchen table. Two of your books, the signed cards, and another signed book from another author along with a letter from a friend I haven't seen in 10 years.
Quite a morning. I started reading your book this evening and am 60 pages into it already. My compliments to you Matt....its great!

Thanks so much for the cards...they are a nice compliment to the books and the others will be posted for maximum recognition.

Well, got to get back to it.....hooked!

Thanks Cookie! I'll be heading up to Vegas for the SHOT Show tomorrow, until Sunday, so I'll be off line for that time.

I'll be in the Accu-Shot booth (929) in the LE area. If anyone wants to find me, look for a 5 foot tall poster of my book cover. I'll be the guy in front of it.

It's hard to find time to devote to something like reading a book up here. But, this is one of the very few books I have devoted any time to reading. I have only finished one other book while I have been here, and this will be my second. Thanks.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, some folks complain about the ending. It ain't all sweetness and light, that's for sure. But that would not be realistic, considering the future we seem to be facing. BTW, if you wouldn't mind, would you wander over to my Amazon.com page and post a mini review like the one you wrote here? Thanks!

It was great meeting Dave Gaboury at the SHOT Show, he was doing a great job of carrying the UziTalk flag! What an experience the SHOT is. Beyond belief.

RoverDave, It was great seeing you at the SHOT, that was quite an experience, wasn't it? I felt like an ant at a picnic, I was only able to sample maybe 10% of the more than 3,000 tables. Plus, I spent 80% of my time at the Accu-Shot booth in LE, so I barely saw the big rooms. All in all, it's a mind blowing experience to be there. Almost anybody can wangle an attendee pass with some kind of gun-related pretext, I HIGHLY recommend it for next year! But get hotel reservations, early, don't be a moron like me!

Matt, it was a pleasure meeting you at the show. It's always fun to visit with someone friendly, knowledgeable and interesting like yourself. I hope the show was productive in terms of marketing and selling your book.

I agree that the show was tremendous and I'd highly recommend it. You can hit the Interent and track down information on most of the products you see at the show, but there's no substitute for handling the products and talking directly to the manufacturers. It really gives you a chance to hear "the rest of the story." For example, I stopped by the Starlight Cases booth and talked to the guy that owns the company. I asked him about the Wal-mart deal and he told me about how his son-in-law had set up the deal for nearly 10,000 cases and how it hurt his business significantly when Wal-Mart slashed prices. Needless to say there won't be any more Wal-Mart deals after they run out of this stock.

I had great discussions with many of the vendors regarding UZI related stuff that and I'll be working that info into the library along with a summary of the SHOT show itself.

I got my autographed copy of Matt's book at the show. Matt, I decided to use the plane ride home to work on a show writeup for UZI Talk rather than starting on the book. I'll start in a couple of days when I get caught up. I can't wait!

Here's a picture of the man himself selling his product at the show.

In case people don't know, Matt has published this book on his own rahter than work through the standard book publishers that give new authors little chance at success. What that means is that if you read Matt's book and like it, he's counting on you to spread the word. Based on the feedback I've seen here, it should be easy to spread the word.

Of course Matt is working hard at doing his own marketing. As I left the show one day, I saw this in the Convention Center parking lot. Keep spreading the word Matt!

That's not just a minivan, that's a Nissan Quest. Best car I ever had. I'm a family man, what the hay? I've even taken kids to soccer practice in it, and I'll admit it. I'm secure in my masculinity: I've been through SEAL training and sailed across the Pacific from Panama to Guam solo. So yes, I will proudly stand and say,

Matt, I was looking for your book on Amazon and it says

"Availability: THIS TITLE IS CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE. If you would like to purchase this title, we recommend that you occasionally check this page to see if it has become available."

What gives?

Matt Bracken
02-17-2004, 01:09 AM
GunWares: It's a peculiar Amazon hassle. They don't delist old first edition Amazon pages, on the theory that there is an ongoing market for used books. Somewhere on that page it should say "all editions" or something, which clicks you to the new edition. Here's the link to the current new-and-improved less typos and better paper 2nd edition EFAD Amazon page.

Funker: "Troop transport," I like that! In my case it's more like a "HazMat" or high-explosives van. My kids are knicknamed "Nitro" and "Glycerin." We have the van to put distance between the little angels to reduce the explosions.

Hi Matt,

I can't find your book at Barnes and Noble (imagine that), so I am going to order it from you directly, makes more sense anyway.

The guy at the store said why don't you get, How to Become a Queer, Abortion for Dummies, Moral Relativism, or The Government is Your Friend instead?

Matt Bracken

Nope, it'll be a while before I'm on the shelves at B&N, that's for sure. For now, signed copies from me are your best bet, or Amazon or the other places linked on my website.

While it's fresh in your mind, if you want to you can jot down a few words of review on my Amazon page.

Hi Matt,

I just finished your book last night. Only one question: You done with part 2 yet? ;)

All kidding aside, it is a good book. I am not much into "Fiction" but once I read the first page of EFD I was hooked. Definitely the same type of read as UC. I love the factual information there.

Good job!

Drew,
Thanks, I hope you enjoy it! BTW, I came up with the idea which lifelibertyetc.com used (with my blessing!) on stickers and shirts. The one with the "Naval Jack" Gadsden flag, with the M-16 rifle going the other way from the snake, forming an X.
