View Full Version : polytech 223 ak help
I think i need a new bolt for my polytech 223 ak it's a jamming machine i put my buddy's bolt out of his norinco 223 in it and ran perfect but didn't fit the carrier just right was a little loose. I've heard the polytechs never worked right. If anyone has any info much appreciated thanks.

Take it to a good smith and have nim rework your bolt.

Don't change bolts out without checking headspace.

Polytechs usually always work.
The bolt is probably needing fit to the receiver and is from another AK like a SAR-3.
Chinese receivers are thicker, and as such, the cuts in the bolt probably are dragging.
Its an easy fix.
The Polytech is my favorite AK. I have 3 that are shot regularly and others NIB.
Will i talked to polytech- kings in goergia and they said the 223 aks had problems and they could never get a fix so maybe i should try to convert over to 762.

I have a Registered FA Polytech that was originally .223 and converted to 7.62X39. Bought it NIB. Did not run right when I got it. Replaced the bolt head with one out of a SA (same) and it's been running great for five years.
I guess my next big search will be for parts to convert over to 762 thanks

Trade it off and get a Norinco, never a problem with my 84s.
