I've wanted an AK for long time, and with ammo prices, am thinking this might be a good buy, a AK .22 for $240 on gunbroker. Anyone have any experience with them?
Thanks!

I had one several years ago.

If you were not aware, it's basically a barreled receiver inside a metal shell, or the "receiver" that looks like an AK receiver.

Everything on them is purley for looks. The magazine is something the likes that of a pistol, which is also contained in a metal shell.

I fired mine like it was going out of style, and it was fun. Years ago I posted some pics of the same one that I cut the barrel down to the standard AK's 16 1/4" and added some wooden AK handguards.

Here it is: http://www.uzitalk.com/forums/showpost.php?p=45229&postcount=11

I'm told it'll get better with the std velocity .22LR as it breaks in.

I had one a few years ago. The barrel was slightly bent to the left, but It was only about 50 bucks. Worked great with the cheap ammo. $240 is a bit high, but these are the obama days.

I have a couple of the romanian ak22 , wasr , which uses a real ak receiver and accepts all the std ak parts, stocks grips handgaurds etc .

The factory 10 rd mag with the wasr sucks but black dog makes an excelent 30 rd magazine

I have a Krinker Plinker kit on mine. The looks of an AK with the reliability of a 10/22 that uses (now) cheaper mags...stock up!:patriot
