Like Christmas I got 2 new toys! Brass catcher came last week ,simple ,affordable and works.Didnt over load it but it sure does hold a lot of brass.I am very pleased with this product ,thanks for your quick shipping.
Today when I got home from work a box was in the mail waiting ,sub cal UZI barrel for the practice ammo ,this is very well made ,shiny blue finish, ribs on the end ,so I cant mix it up with any other barrel!Put my 9mm bolt in Vector UZI with buffer, filled 1 25 round mag and set it on semi .surprizing it was not as loud as normal 9mm.didnt think I hit my back stop?Switched to full and what a bullet hose faster than my gun has ever shot before?I thru some cans in the yard (its pouring rain here tonight)and blasted the heck out of them .So far I went thru about 250 rds not one problem at all? This is so much fun!!The cost of this barrel paid for it self in fun already. The ammo was under 200$ for 8 boxes delivered.Lady at Centerfire said they have truck loads ?I dont know how much that is but I will personaly be making a dent in that truck load.If you waited as I did ,dont this is just so much fun to blast away with ,I dont know why the rpm is so much higher than it had been ?I was using Barrelxchanges converted 9mm bolt ,with the same spring and buffer?Tommorow I change things around to see what is causeing the over 1000rpm.thanks to 2 members for some great products!!!

My subcal barrel with Swedish traing ammo is SLOOOWWW. In fact, it's never run this slow on any ammo. Don't know why yours runs so fast, but I am curious.

Mine shoots fast too. I also get a failure to eject about 1 a mag. The thing is so inaccurate that it is not entertaining at all to me so I have not jacked with it. i find myself just shooting the .22 kit instead. I put a cac22 on it and all you hear is the bolt. My .22 kit shoots about 4inches lower than 9mm, but for some reason is dead on at 100meters, and to my suprise I can hit a 6" gong fairly consistantly with it.

HP's brass catcher works very well. I might even start to load SS 9 again.

Just wondering if the subcal barrels both of you just received are cut a different way than the previous runs. Everyone I've spoken with has experienced a very slow ROf with these barrels, and yes, the accuracy is nothing short of terrible. My barrel is actually rifled, and of course it doesn't seem to make any difference with the 5mm steel bb projectile. What year was your ammo manufactured in?

Or thats what it looks like. I measured the barrel and a BB and the barrel is quite a bit larger, it is rifled, but if you take a BB and put it in the barrel it rattles all the way down.

A friend shoots his swedish K with an original training barrel and says it is very accurate. He is going to come to the next match and bring it. I will measure it and see if thier is any diff.

The original Swedish barrels have a much better accuracy. As far as the way mine fires, the rate of fire is about the same maybe faster but the recoil is higher. (That is with JB's barrel in an Uzi)..

To bad someone couldn't rebarrel it to a .17 and bore it over to fit the 5mm bb. The .22 barrel has quite a bit of slop for the bb to have much accuracy.

2nd box of ammo had 1st jam,40rd mag that I had a mark on and forgot that it gave a problem before.my gun has semi ramp?the drum will empty so fast you can belive 72 rds can move that fast .I tried for the moa, not. this is just for fun hung bottles and cans from trees and just spray them .grin lasts a while from everyone that has tried it .The sound is not much more than .22 without ear protection ?by box I mean case I opened up # 4 today.the stripper clips work good with the loader that gun parts sells.started refilling all the stripper clips with the silver bear 145 gr ammo I have for quieter shooting. If you like blasting cans and making noise these are great.

WARNING stand way back wear eye protection!
I have gone thru 4 boxes of this ammo. 100 feet back shooting at back stop of dirt berm, 4x4 plywood back stop. shooting cans on the ground after 2nd mag ,hit with what felt like bee sting with baseball bat.ran inside blood gussing from 1" above eye .ouch!took 6mm ball out with very strong magnet.black eye is now red,be very carefull ,things can happen when you lest expect it.!for me it was end of BAD DAY! but Im glad no one else was around and I changed what we now shoot at with this fun ammo.
I am a safety nut but ,when you get hit you rethink everything ,be very carefull ,thats all I can pass on this a lot of fun till someone loses a eye.! rr

Damnation that's a scary story! Glad you're not more seriously injured! I've had that happen shooting a BB gun as a kid and this stuff packs more of a whallop for sure.

I would add that besides eye protection, you should heed Anders' suggestion to use a brass catcher especially if you are left eye dominant. The plastic tip shatters upon firing and follows the BB down the barrel when everything works as designed. However, if a piece of plastic gets left behind in the chamber, the next round could mischamber and you get an out-of-battery KB.

I have not had any problems with this ammos plastic? keep every thing clean,I have been going thru drum after drum with out a dud. This bullet is also quite a bit quieter than normal 9mm?moved our shooting area accross the street into the woods, hanging cans from trees and moved back way back .harder to hit cans but with 1000rpm still a blast.my eyebrow no longer looks like herman munsters, cant stress enough how much these hurt!

a couple of guys I know got togather with an original swedish k training barrel and blue printed it and should be ready for production fairly soon. My understanding is that they are going to make them for a variety of firearms, not just the uzi.

I shot one of the swedish barrels a couple of weeks ago and it shot much better than the trainers out there now.

I should receive a uzi barrel to demo before to long and will tell you how it does. Before purchasing another barrel I would waite for these to come out. I don't think a price has been set as of yet, but I will let you know. If they are anything like the original trainers the accuracy should be very good out to 50yds or so.

Best

From what I hear they are going to do a great job with them and be very accurate....

Are these worth putting on a regular semi full size UZI? That training ammo is awfully cheap so I'm a little inclined to try it out. Since I'll have a non NFA weapon I assume that I will need a 16" barrel, or since the barrel is for practice ammo can I use the 10" one?

How much are your barrels, jb573? I tried emailing but I never got a reply.

Bloodso,

These are really for full autos for people who enjoy the thrill of blasting away. Accuracy is marginal, at best.

To use on a semi-auto, you would need to turn the FA barrel to semi-auto contour, then add a barrel extension to make 16". Shorter barrels are still illegal unless you SBR it. I think the barrel itself is about $135, so you would invest quite a few $ for one for a semi.

The round looks like a regular 9mm, but the bullet is a plastic encased 5mm steel BB, still a firearm round however, and dangerous.

Better not to shoot them in a standard barrel because the steel BB eats up the barrel bouncing around, and they don't create enough pressure to cycle the weapon.
