Cold steel on the cheek? Sorry, there's no fix for that. Better sell it to me. Even with the full stock, I think you should sell it to me. :)

DSA (http://www.dsarms.com) has a few parts, and this guy: chris@vulcanimports.com will send you a list if you e-mail him. Mine is a semi, and I use AR mags in it all the time.

For parts try chris@vulcanimports. He can get most Belgian parts for the weapon. Besides factory FNC mags, I use USGI AR15 mags in my gun. I had a beta but was not a big fan of it .
As for the cold steel on the cheek, there is a thread on the Uzi forum that deals with the comfort level of the mini uzi stock and there are some solutions, ie. foam padding., I believe Amphibian has padding on his mini that looks like it was factory installed.:cool . HTH. Remo

Chris emailed me already and I located some of the parts I wanted. The folder looked cool but I found it hard to close,I looked at 2 guns and chose 1 that looks brand new.I was able to shoot before making up which 1 to go with and full stock fit me,I dont shot from hip much.I dont have any ar15 mags thats why I was asking are some better than others ?sent to rguns for ones with "green follower"?thanks for info I was going to buy this same gun last june ,paid quite a bit more for waiting.I am really hoping that a beta mag will work as I think Ive got one on the way .Now how long till the belt fed conversion comes out and these reach $10k

Any USGI mags should work fine. If you find some without the new (green or orange) followers, you can get the followers cheap from Briansammo (http://www.uzitalk.com/forums/member.php?s=&action=getinfo&userid=835).

Actually someone posted on Subguns about 6 months ago that they were in the process of building a belt fed upper for the FNC and they stated they were serious. I don't recall their name, but if someone builds one, I have a spare upper that I will have converted. If it is a joke, I will have the spare upper chopped to have a shorty.

Last nite, I spent more time on this quest for info than I would like to admit.Found some info from sar inteviews with C. Higgins ,he didnt say how many total sears he made ,but that they were from hardened sheet metal? The cost in Aug 2002 was $1635 for installation and remarking receiver(did that include sear?)(looked at rifle in 2002 price was $5500.)The # of imported rifles from 3 importers was 6000.and 90% were folding stock version.I was told that howco was made in japan? not Belguim?? seems Howco was importer in NJ. If this rifle was imported to USA from 1982 -1988 only 6000 total, I guess the big question is how many sears are there? if Curtis said he was busy getting close to 2000 hk sears cast how many machined sheet metal sears ?

My Howco was made in Belguim. I think somebody was confusing Howco with Howa's which are made in Japan.

There seems to be a misunderstanding about the FNC's out there. Gun South of Birmingham (later Trussville) AL. imported all of the FNC's and STEYR of NJ and HOWCO of Maryland were distributors of the rifles. HOWCO was/is a LE Distributor, that is why the HOWCO rifles do not say "SPORTER" on them. Admittedly, I have not seen all FNC's, but of all the ones I have seen, none had Gun South by itself. Either STEYR or HOWCO was stamped alongside/underneith the GS name.
HOWCO's are most certainly from Belgium, not JAPAN. Sheesh!, the things you read on the internet is amazing!! The 6,000 rifles is probably a reliable quoted number. As far as sears go, I have # 2705 & 2946 and have read that others had sear numbers in the 3200 range. I have heard of none higher. That makes me wonder about the rumor of more sears than guns.
On a side note, here is a link to another FNC siteFNC Group on YAHOO (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FN-FNC/)

The sear number is on your form 4 and Curtis also stamped it on the gun on the lower receiver on the inside rear where the stock mounts. Should have the 4 digit sear number and S&H Arms OK stamped on the back wall

I compared the photo of your upper to my GUN SOUTH/STEYR upper and they are a match. Yours is a STEYR Distributed gun as is mine. Gun South Imported all of the guns and STEYR & HOWCO distributed them to their respective markets.

Hey, I'm 49 and Mom's 82. Name was Handel. I still have a cousin Bill (around 30?) there and his mum(he he). Uncle Fred lived at the place until he died a few years ago. He would be about 67-69 now I guess. He was big into old Packard cars & had a whole dealership parts inventory in the basement They live next to a cemetary up on a hill on the left after you turn on Coulter Rd from I think Lincoln Way. The names Mom always talks about were the Steeles, Reminschneiders(sp?)[cousins] and the Handels (grandparents, aunts & uncles)

I read that that new handguard set is sold by DSA for $350. I have seen posts of sear numbers just below 3700, that is still 2300 less than the number of rifles imported.
The only thing I was wondering was, Just how many FNC's made it into LE hands? PD's probably bought quite a few off of HOWCO and they are probablly still in the gun racks of all those LE agencies still today. So those guns have to be taken out of the equation of how many FNC's are available to put sears in.
