i have a ky imports reciever coming soon. against better advice im going to build it myself, just because i like to get involved in these kinds if headaches. anyway, d&d wants 509.00 for the balance of parts for this reciever. is there any way to go thats a bit cheaper.

i understand that a fa parts kit isnt that useful because most of those parts are for a true sub gun. what about misc parts in that kit such as barrel nut, grips, sights and assorted pins and screws, are they usable for a semi-auto, or is it cheaper to get those parts other ways? does vector sell the remaining required parts? if so, does anyone know the price?

im not sure i can come up with 500 at once, if i were to nickle and dime this project, what would be the best way to go about it? could i get the major componets, barrel, bolt, trigger housing, then get all the small parts, or is this method just making the whole thing more expensive?

thanks in advance for any help i get. ive been wanting an uzi for a long time and after a few snags, im sure i could do this project.

Hindsight being 20/20 this is what I would have done, bought a Norinco but have alot more money into it than $600 plus. parts kits will yeild you little results. Lower must be modified(search our library). From field reports, front sights will be an issue as well. If you wanted a headache, you got one. It's doable with alot of knowledge and resources but for the bucks I would grab a Vector semi ASAP. I would but they don't have a layaway program. ;)

well, i bought the 300$ finished reciever with the internals. not the 20.00 stamped sheet metal thing. does that make it easier?

Conversion of lower is tricky, but can be done, very cheap but again you have to look at US parts count, you already have to shitcan the grips(cheap US part) but they aren't free. Let us know if we can be of any help, again, check the reference library on the forum, there is a "how to do it" for the lower in there. ;)
