I recently received my approved Form 4 for my Vector full size Uzi. A
few months ago, I purchased an M3 (Greasegun) magazine conversion
trigger housing from Chris Humphreys. Chris shipped the unit quickly
and packaged it well. It arrived in short order and in excellent
condition. I was quite impressed with the apparent quality of the
unit, from the welds, which are well done, to the finish, which is
smooth, attractive, and happens to match my Vector fairly well.

Despite the apparent quality, I decided to wait to issue a review until
I had actually installed the unit on my gun and shot it. I'm glad I
did, because now I can attest to the high quality, smooth operation, and
just plain FUN I experienced using it.

I had expected perhaps some difficulty making the gun run with the kit,
maybe a little tuning, but I was pleasantly surprised. Once the unit
was installed on the gun, all I had to do was put in my .45 barrel and
bolt, load up magazines, and make some noise! The bolt runs freely in
the receiver with each of my magazines installed. The gun runs equally
well with the tight-fitting parkerized magazines and the looser blued
mags.

Only two mild failings come to mind when discussing this great product.
First, the selector lever is a bit bulky, and it is difficult to find
the "semi" position. The detent is a bit sloppy for that position, it's
more of a range of positions, from exhibiting a very heavy trigger pull when
the lever is at the rear of the range to occasional doubles at the
forward end of the range. This is not a terribly important problem,
since it's pretty easy to get singles out of the gun in the auto
position. The second mild problem (which really isn't much of a problem),
is that the rear grip contour feels strange in my hand. It would simply
be a matter of cutting and sanding to get a better fit, though, and it
probably wouldn't be a problem for most people. Anyway, I didn't notice
it nearly as much when I was shooting as when I was handling the grip
separately from the gun, probably because I was holding the grip more
like a pistol by itself.

So in summary, I'd like to say that I am overwhelmingly pleased with
Chris's M3 magazine conversion lower, and that I'd recommend it to
any Uzi enthusiast who wants to burn a lot of .45s.

I'm impressed with mine, as well. Quality seems to be good and it's fun to shoot.

I really like this lower, (I 'm not a fan of the UZI grip safety) .I use Chris H lower with 357sig,40s&w and 45.Tried to adapt a sten 9mm mag, without any luck.
the mags fit well, drop free with out any feed issues.I have thousands of rounds thru my vector ,using this lower .the only issue I ever had was slecting semi-auto, the gun failed to fire ,nothing?switched the slector back and forth a few times and the problem never returned? The odd thing was this just happened ,I had never taking it off full auto. I bought 2 kits from sarco the 130$ ones from 2003,they had metal selectors and the extra bolt safety, chris was able to use 1 of these to make mine.the gg mags I have came from Ohio ord works $113/10 new in wrapper.when you look at the work in this you have admit ,Chris is a pro!in my picture it looks like there is a line near the selector?it doesnt look shiny like that only in picture? If you want calibers larger than 9mm you need to think about this lower.

Carcass -- try sticking a 1.4" semi buffer in the gun when you have it fixed up for 45. It really rocks.

I concur with the kudos for Chris' lower! In fact, it feeds and operates better than the Vector lower using 9mm. Very high quality and functional conversion!

Now if I can just find a speedloader for the grease gun mags and some more parkerized mags!

Think grease gun mags are bad ... try sten mags.

Tactical Innovations sells grease gun loading devices that work pretty well. They're not a speedloader, but the do give your thumb a break.

Now all Chris needs to do is make an magwell adapter that lets you use Sten mags.........ROCK N ROLL

I'd never buy one. Uzi mags are heads and shoulders above sten mags.

My only problem is that 30 rounds of .45 is just not enough for me... Guess I will have to get Bustoff to weld up a couple and make a Franken mag.

Buy Stonycreek's new 56 round M10 drum.

Looks like a Suomi 9mm modified for 45 with a GG upper.
