I order the $90.00 "New IMI" Uzi Bayonet from Vector Arms.

I received a South African. I called Vector and had a very pleasant conversion with the same customer service rep that I place my order with. They instructed me to send it back and they would cover the shipping cost.....which they did.

Today I received the " New IMI" bayonet.

Well I am not too pleased!

The grip screws are all boogered up. Like if someone used the wrong screwdriver tip and slipped out of the slots several times. It appears like the slipped out when tightening. If there is one thing I hate it is boogered screws!

Second problem is in relation to the IMI marking.

1. The marking is "I.M.I." , IMI usually does not use dots. Normally just "IMI" is the marking.

2. The "I.M.I." marking is not parked, it does not match the finish of the blade. It is fresh silver in color. It must have been cut after the fact.

3. The position of the "I.M.I." is rather odd. one would assume the IMI would be perpendicular to the blade and positioned near the cross plate.

This would lead me to believe this bayonet was marked after the fact, and NOT by IMI....some stooge.

Check out the pics.

Anyone have input on this.

I guess I am going to have to send this bayonet back also....Damn it.

Well, $90.00 seems a little steep on the bayo, but it looks to be as advertised and the condition is not as bad as I expected, but it doesn't matter what I think about it, if you're not happy send it back....

If you end up on the short end, Northridge is advertising Israeli with scabbard for $85http://www.northridgeinc.com/sn-515.jpg

'Real' IMI bayos will not have an IMI marking. In fact, I don't think they will have any marking. Certainly not one like in your photo - I.M.I. Looks like it was done just before you got it.

The FN bayos will have a mark on the scabbard, just like on their magazines.

I would send it back to Vector and tell them you either want the real deal or your money back. But, I think they are good people and will refund you.

I got mine from Northridge and it is very nice and in perfect condition. Yes, they are expensive, but I'm really happy with mine.

And, there is nothing wrong with the South African contract ones either. Just that some people prefer the original Israeli stuff...

I got one from Northridge for $60. It was new and the only markings on it was a C11 and that was on the back part of the handle where th lug slides in. I don't know where it was made but the new frog that came with it was South Africian.

I don't have a camera at home but do have acess to one at work. I may need a camera that has Micro features as the C11 is very small. I had to use a magnifying glass to tell what it was. Anyway give me a day or two and i'll try and get something.

I have 5 pictures with the bayonet code and some mag codes. What I thought was the code on the bayonet was C11 is not what it is. I highlighted the numbers with white paint and now it looks like either a D11 or 011. Even pressure must not have be applied when it was stamped as one side is not all there. You will be able to notice in the picture.

I hope this helps.

DiabloRT-

If you are satisfied with the bayo perhaps you could just exchange screws. I know you feel "screwed" already but maybe that would be easier than sending back the whole thing.

Can anybody take a picture of an UZI with a bayonet mounted?

Sorry, but this just doesn't sound like a useful additon to the UZI to me?

I just bought a bayonet that is next to new and in the original Action Arms box. I would assume if it's one that Action Arms shipped then it's probably Israeli made. The seller said it had no marks but I'll see for myself next week when it arrives.

I am still not sure I like a bayonet on a SMG?

Does any one know who makes the bayo's that DSA sells? Mine came with a scabbard like the one above, but no frog. The bayonet has no markings that I can find.
Also, who sells the frogs?

Salvo, I think I remember asking DSA over the phone and the answer was they were S.A. manufactured. It could have been stated in the catalog... I can't recall.
