It's that time again. After only one weekend off it's time to clean the hardware and come out for some more fun! C-3 and maybe some pistol. Likely 4 bays, quick ones that will require no more than 3 mags unless you fall asleep on the trigger. Iron Man should be back in town so we will see what he thinks-up for the match. Hope to see you there.:cool

Is anyone from the South Florida area heading up to this event. I won't have a car on Sunday and I could use a lift. I'd be more than happy to pay for gas in return for a ride.

I'm afraid I joined this group too late to find out about this event in time to go. How was it?
Is anything like this being planned in South Florida?

there is an event the first Sunday of every month. Sept 5th will be the next one I think and news for it will be posted in this "shoots" forum. This is the one match I did not attent in the past 3 months but by all accounts it was one of the most fun. To quote amphibian
"that was the best match ever"
he then said that about 10 times only to give pause to make comments about suppressors :D
The next one should be just as fun as this last one.
Where abouts in FL are you cvasqu03?

I'm in Miami-Dade County near FIU. I mostly go to Trail Glades range, which has a draconian 1 shot every 5 seconds rule, though whenever I can get enough people together, I like to rent out their side range where anything goes.
I Don't have any FA to use there yet, but worked on my norinco 320 and the last time I rented out the combat range, I decided to see how fast I could empty the magazine and the range officer onhand thought it was FA. Since I'd never tried this before, I had no idea what a good job I'd done on it (or how smooth the action was). I think polishing the feedramp was the major contributor, but I'd also replaced some internal parts with better quality US made parts.
In any case, I'd love to pass by the next time if I'm not working (yeah, I do work every other weekend, but that just makes me appreciate my range time even more).
Where do you guys usually go? Is there a safe secluded area where it's ok to just let loose, or does someone own some property? I remember my very first time shooting anything was when I first tried out my first sks near Krome Avenue up against a canal with a friend who was an NRA trained instructor. Didn't start going to a formal range till later.

I'm in miami dade as well around the north miami beach area. A couple of us are going to pop deans place to shoot today if you are interested. Its soooo nice outside and we should have a couple uzi's and a full auto AUG plus some other toys. I have never been to this range before but by all accounts it's better than Markham and Trail Glades if you make the trip. It is however quite a haul to get there from where I am so if I don't get too lost we should be there around 3pm today.Pop Dean Hunt Club (http://www.popdeanhuntclub.org)

Unfortunately I'm at work all day, but keep me posted, I'll see if I can make it out one of these times.
Let me know how today goes for you.
thanks

I'll be taking pics today to post later. Keep an eye on this "Shoots, Gun Shows & Events " forum toward the end of the month and usually either amphibian or Tactical Firearms Academy will post the next match info for the Palm Bay match.

I am expecting a full report with pix. I was just on the phone with Sharon at Pop Dean's, and she was telling me about this nice guy named Todd who was on the range as we spoke. (You really need to do something about that image, guy!):D

Ahh... right I forgot to drop my friendly and casual usual persona for my loud mouthed ignant "EYE GOTS ME ONE OF THEM THERE MACHINE GUN" personas. I'll make sure to wear my pants down next time and let a little crack so everyone can remember why we appreciate women as much as we do . Or I could do the homeboy Uzi owner persona :D as soon as I find my gold teeth and a professional NFL jersey that matches my socks, belt and gun... and an Escalde with spinners .
She didn't mention she had spoken to you at all when I left although we had spoken about you and some of the FSN guys and how everyone helped hook that place up. Sharon is a pretty cool lady and I hope that place works out with her pending issues. I'd like to see it improve a bit that fence + the range payment box are a great step in the right direction. If there is anything I can do to help I'll be there.
Range report to follow.
