We had this poll on the old board, and I can't really remember - but I think the Yes side was winning. Does that sound correct? :nutkick

Anyway, let's try it again - since we have more members.

Randi-

Welcome to the forum and I hope you are soon to be the new owner of an UZI. You have come to the right place for UZI support, advice, suggestions and a lot of fun. This forum is fairly new but it has some of the best moderators around and a foundation of great people and information. Hope to see more of you around these parts soon. :clap :welcome :clap

Do you think it would make sense (not cents of course) to offer a small premium to stimulate membership? Then again what's the use if this is not a financial endeavor, right ? I was just thinking it might be interesting to offer a mag or some other simple gift to the next member who reaches a certain plateau or member # 1000 for instance...you know, just for fun. Maybe something that could appeal to ANY UZI enthusiast ?:pound

29 votes out of over 350 members? Come on guys. :)

Somehow VOTING seems to be just about as popular as going to the dentist or maybe the proctologist. Well, maybe not the proctologist since I don't think we would have 29 willing to go there.:D

I like the idea of additional forums. Then again, nobody's posted anything about the Galil in the non-Uzi section. I wouldn't recommend a forum for the Galil unless some stuff for the Galil is put on the board--not just an empty forum. Galil owners would be more likely to show up and post if there is already something on the board for them. Just my two cents--wait a minute! These are CANADIAN pennies! Drat! Ripped off again! :pissed

Never mind that these days pennies are less valuable than trash on the street.

It would not suprise me one bit to find out there are a few members here who are the owners of Galil's too. Even though they fall under the same family heading of the inventions of Uziel Gal there are other forums that specialize in them in particular as a major brand rather than the 1/2 brother of the UZI. The Galil is not "an also ran" product. It deserves the respect of it's own forum where owners feel they belong. On the other hand, I encourage all owners of this fine weapon to post mssgs. in the non-UZI forum with any questions or concerns they may have and we will do all we can to provide info ot steer them in the most helpful direction possible to get the info they need. :cool

i voted to allow the galil in. imi only makes a few different guns so why not. galils are cool and there really isn't a site anywhere that caters to them. it just seems like a logical extension to an uzi site. just my .02, ymmv.

I'm not saying this has any bearing on the vote but I just want to clarify this incorrect statement. Uziel Gal had nothing to do with the Galil rifle. The Galil was a competitor of the battle rifle that Uziel Gal submitted. The Galil was designed by a guy named Balashnikov (no relation to Kalashnikov other than the design he copied). Balashnikov changed his name to Israel Galili after the rifle was named the Galil.

The only relationship to the Uzi is that they were both produced by IMI.

...and I VOTED YES without knowing this:

"The Galil was a competitor of the battle rifle that Uziel Gal submitted. The Galil was designed by a guy named Balashnikov (no relation to Kalashnikov other than the design he copied). Balashnikov changed his name to Israel Galili after the rifle was named the Galil."

I will re submit my vote to NO for the fact that this is an UZI board and not an IMI board!

While the GALIL is a SUPREME/SUPERB rifle, it is NOT an UZI!

THANK YOUs to ROVERDAVE for learning me sumthen! ;)

The ballot box never fails to amaze even the most jaded of political pundits. Then again is it really about ballots ? And is there a box ? Hey, whatever works. cookie please take a bow.:bow
