Any idea how many Uzis have been imported to the US? Has the Micro model ever made it over? (I think it was developed after the Import ban?)

I've seen the UZI pistol called the micro many times on the internet. It's just like calling the M1A an M14, and, though not nearly as often anymore, the AR15 being called an M16. The AR15 is much more popular than the above weapons so more people are familiar with the differences.
Question:
How are the folding stocks attached on the micro & can they be put on the pistol as well?? Mechanically & legally.

The folding stock is welded to the receiver on both the mini and the micro. It's not a "bolt it on" garage project. More importantly, there are few legal options for putting the stock on. Having the stock on the pistol would make it an Any Other Weapon (AOW), but an AOW has to be manufactured as an AOW, it can't be converted to one after manufacture (like you can convert a rifle into a Short Barreled Rifle.) The only legal way to have the folder on is for the receiver to be registed as a machinegun, or to have a registered bolt in the gun. Keep in mind though that if you dropped in a registered bolt and welded on a stock, you are now forced to keep the bolt in the gun. Bottom line: no way to have a semi-auto Uzi pistol with a stock.

Interesting, that's the first I've heard on figures. Actually in reference to the Micro, I should have said the Micro SMG. I know there seem to be plenty of pistols around. It looks like it was developed after the import ban:

Scroll on down & you will see it. It's even smaller than the mini-uzi from the looks of things. Would be interesting to know if any were brought in for military/leo use.

I bet transferrables are big $$. Sounds like it is basically the pistol with a stock on it? I still think sometime in the future I might have to pick up a pre-ban mini-uzi though. :D

I've seen transferable Micros for about $4500 - roughly the same price as a transferable Mini.

I was afraid you were going to say that about the legal issues. :(
Maybe some day I'll live in a free state & be able to own the toys that most of you guys already have. :dancing:
Thanks for all the info!!
