NIB Vectors. The prices are rising, this batch was $3595ea +15S/H to my dealer. compared to 2900 ea on a group buy last year.
Does this qualify me for addiction status? Are there Uzi anonymous meetings I can go to? I think it would go something like this:
"Hi my name is Tom and I'm an Uziholic" It all started at the first machine gun shoot I attended. I couldn't help myself. Once I picked up that first one it was all downhill from there. I had one mag then another and another and before I knew it I was drunk with pleasure, firng burst after burst, going out of my head, feeling the heat of that flawless funtioning machine radiating into my hands, its weight, its perfect lines, the smell of burnt powder, the rat tat tat of 147gr FMJ flying down range ringing metal plates. It was more than I could take. I applied for my license shortly after and been buying them since. Any suggestions?

tg2000,
obviously you are in need of serious help and I am just the person who can help you. You first step is to admit you are ill and sell one of the Uzi's you got in your first group buy for $2900 to me for what you paid for them. Not only will this assuage your torment but also provide me with a twin for my Vektor who cries at night alone in the safe :( . Now slowly take a deep breath, take that 1st step. Remember, one mag, I mean er..., one day at a time. ;)
Have fun,
JIMBO

tommygun2000-
I applaud your choice of investment. I believe there will be a day when money is not worth the paper it's written on. Remember, that one dollar bill of paper money only stands for $1.00(?) worth of gold somewhere. I say, buy silver, gold and UZI's. Even fine art won't get you dinner when things are bad.
I think we all have good investments here on this forum. But we all don't have the operating capital you do now. It takes discipline to use cards and pay them off w/o a penny of interest, again I applaud you. That is the main idea behind AMEX cards...only charge what you can pay off every month !

Your quite right in your recommendations. Precious metals, gold, silver, Uzis and ammo would all have great worth in hard times.
Money (paper currency) is only as good as the will of people to accept it for goods and services. It's value is unstable at best and can be changed in an instant. Look at how Russia and Japans currencies were devaluated overnight. Its evidence of dept(owed to the federal reserve bank) and has no real intrinsic value other than its declaration as legal tender by the government. The notes used to contain a promise to pay the bearer in gold , and later in silver. Now there is no promise to pay as there is no intrinsic metal to back the notes. They don't even belong to the government, they belong to the federal reserve bank....which is a private bank, NOT a federal agency. When they need more, they roll the presses. Every dollar that rolls off that press, devalues the dollar that you have already worked for and earned. This is called inflation. The buying power of the dollar goes down, so prices rise to meet the differenc in value.
Gold has fixed weight and purity and a set value and is recognized worldwide as money regardless of its form.
Silver is also accepted most places but not as valuable as gold as its far more plentiful.
As far as the cards go, their money is working for me, lets call it "creative financing". I just keep my eye on the prize and get it paid. The worst thing is forking over the 200 bucks transfer tax to the feds. Thats the greatest insult.

Tommy, I'm with on credit cards. I bought my M16 on a credit card. Hell, I paid off my mortgage with credit cards. 0% intrest is just free money. I saved enough on intrest parments to buy my Vector SMG. I use them for what they are worth and ditch them when they no longer serve my needs.

Good for you Paul. Glad you got the guns you wanted also. Hopefully you got the m16 before the prices soared.
Think we can get a commision from the card companies for drumming up business?:D

Tommy, I got mine just as prices were taking off. I could sell today for a nice profit if I wanted to, but I didn't get a killer deal. I heard a guy the other day on AR15.com say he picked up a RR M16 for $1500 because it was shot to hell. I wish I could find one like that. Here is what I got.

http://www.uzitalk.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=435 Thats a nice looking piece
and as long as you didn't get raked over the coals, life is good.
I'm going to get a couple of shorter uppers for my ARs. Might even go the SBR route for one and put one of those short dissipator barrels on.
1500 for any RR M16, shot to hell or not is a great deal. They can all be fixed.
Selling guns is not my way either. I haven't sold a gun in 25 yrs.
For the small gain I'd make on the semi's I'd rather give them to my grandchildren. Their enjoyment of them would be worth far more than money to me.

I think buying machine guns is as good of an investment as anything I can think of at this point. Buy what you can afford, they'll only go up.
