I was surfing ebay and ended buying an aluminum paintball gun case for my Uzi. They sell on ebay between $20 and $35. The one I purchased has the full length foam inserts - many of them do not. I also had an extra foam insert that I cut down to size. As you can see in the pics, I have an insert that holds mags, 22 conversion kit, and a spare top cover. Then I have an insert to hold my Uzi and suppressor. It works extremely well.

Very nice case. I like it. Now exactly what kind of mags are in that case? If there's anything that isn't listed in our magazine identification (http://www.uzitalk.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=567) thread, please send me photos and information! Thanks.

Mags are already listed on the mag thread. In the case, I have three 40 round Argentine and five Vector 22 rimfire mags.

There are no tool marks on the Vector 22 rimfire mags either. But, as you can see in the attached pic, the 20 round mags have some metal taken off the front of the mag body so as to fit better in the mag well. The mags Vector are using for the 22 kit (both 20 and 28 round mags) are US Made Pro Mags. At one time, I've had five Uzi 9mm Pro Mags for my Chinese Uzi to comply with 922(r). All five of my older 9mm Pro Mags were a little tight in the mag well. It seems that Vector, making the converted 22 rimfire Pro Mags fit better, removed metal at first. Then on the later production 28 round mags, the mags (my guess) were 'squeezed' to make them just a little more narrow. Actually, two of the four 28 round rimfire mags were still too tight in my Vector Uzi. Although, it was an easy fix as I slowly squeezed the mag bodies in a vice.

Dan0341-

Were the cases on a dutch auction or sold on a each by each basis?:cool

Jimbo, I bought my case from an individual who was only selling one. I bought it with the full size foam inserts for $24.00 plus $14.00 fedex shipping. These cases are sold on a continual basis on ebay. To locate, type in "Aluminum Gun Case" in the search field.

Here's one that appears to have only a half size foam insert:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2711649263&category=10554

Here's another that has a full foam insert:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2710716643&category=22699

Both of these cases are the same size as the one I had used. The link above with the full size foam insert has numerous partially cut squares so you can easily customize it for your accessories. This is what I had used and it worked well when arranging my mags, 22 conversion kit, and top cover. This full size partially cut insert is about 3 or 4 inches thick. I cut this in half with a long utility blade. It's not easy to cut this foam evenly. I then used carpet tape to secure the foam to the bottom of the case (the bottom of the case is lined with rubber). By cutting the foam in half, I could place another foam insert (this insert did not come with the case) on top of the accessories. My Uzi and suppressor fit snugly on top it. Of course, I discarded the plastic holder that came with the case. Probably more info than you wanted, but thought it might come in handy.

Go to Lowe's
They have a nice Aluminum case for less than $20
" TASK FORCE ALUMINUM TOOL CASE"
It shows a foam pad and adjustable partitions.
It has a tool organizer on the inside of lid, you can
probably pull it out and chunk it.

Gosh, this forum continues to be remarkable. I didn't know until now that it comes complete with a moderated metric conversion chart. :D

askimball-

1. I attend gunshows regularly...how much are you willing to spend for one, I have seen them although not in the most recent past.

2. Shouldn't that read: A smart monkey doesn't monkey with another monkeys' monkey. (?)

Just wondering...

Thanks Jimbo
English wasn't my strongest subject. I changed the quote.

Many many years ago when VW's were real popular, I saw that quote on the back end of one.

I guess I would pay anywhere from -> $30 to $60
If you find one, let me know the price !?
Thanks for your time

Thanks for the info!!!
They are nice cases & the price is very good, plus no inflated shipping charges. I picked one up last night, may have to get another.

ColtShorty, if you can and get the chance please post a pic. I might be interested in another project using this case. It sounds pretty good.

thanks,
Dan

It looks exactly like the one in your original pic. Mine came with some dividers for making smaller compartments in the lower half of the case, plus behind the foam in the upper half was a removable section that has several pockets that you can put other accessories in.
Here is a link to a pic at Lowes website.

Thanks! That's definately the same case as the one I had used. The only difference is that it doesn't have the perforated foam piece on the bottom. Certainly a better deal than on e-bay as long as a person can locate their own foam inserts.

thanks again,
Dan

I looked on the lowe's site and it says they're sold out. I won't have my UZI for at least another 4 months so I have plenty of time to shop around!
