MAC10 parts ???

My MAC10 .45 should be approved anyday now :)

I bought the mag catch converter to allow the use of un-modified GG mags. Any other spare parts I should get?
What's the purpose of the "side flats" they advertise?
Is the thread protector necessary for the barrel?
Does Black Jack make any buffers for the MAC10?
