I stumbled across a relatively new brand of forged AR lowers. I assembled one tonight, and it was the easiest one I've ever put together (not that an AR is difficult). The fit and finish are outstanding, the cost is reasonable (higher than some, less than Bushmaster), and will accept a RDIAS for those who live in a free state!

This lower was made by a company known as Frankford Arsenal, Inc. at (954) 661-3500. The contact e-mail is sapper69@bellsouth.net.
Please mention uzitalk.com if you order any. I'm doing my best to lure vendors here, and to have them post specials that benefit the members.

I should have recognized that logo!
I saw Frankford lowers for sale somewhere...can't remember where, but I have heard good things about them elsewhere as well.

Unfortunately the bigger boards are charging the vendors substantially for advertising, so this brand isn't as wide spread as it should be. My theory is that if we send them business without charging, maybe they'll recognize the value of their customers and post specials that benefit the members from time to time.

Not yet. I posted the contact info above. I got the impression that this is a small operation, and is just starting out - or resurfacing (whichever the case may be). Either way, I'm a happy customer.

I tried to strike a deal on a Frankford M16 from a guy in Utah. As Stymie has indicated, these were unmarked, unfinished Oly lowers that were finished and assembled by Frankford and as such, the full autos are factory guns and have a good reputation.

Is this the sam Frankford Arsenal that makes reloading accessories that MidwayUsa sells? Hopefully not, because their vibrating primer feeder is a POS in my book.

This one (lower receiver manufacturer) is based in Florida, and I think the reloading company is in the Midwest.

FRANKFORD ARSENAL AR-15A2 LOWERS
Quality Products are produced from quality materials and processes. Frankford Arsenal is proud to carry its own line of AR-15 lower and upper receivers. All units are precision machined on four-axis CNC machines and tooling, which utilize continuous CMM dimensional monitoring via live Renishaw Probe technology during manufacturing operations for perfect centering and quality monitoring. We put additional time into machining, measuring and quality control of all manufacturing processes , reflected in the quality, uniformity and fit found in every FA product.
Hot Forging and heat treatment processes are absolutely critical to alloys performance. The hot forged 7075-T6 aluminum alloy used in all FA receivers have a highly uniform and oriented grain structure ensuring predictable strength and toughness exceeding those from other material processes including bar stock cut receivers. Forging is far superior to casting methods because it allows the elements to flow and form without segregation. Uniform element dispersion is critical to obtaining a uniform heat treatment and dimensional stability. FA uses only forgings made by Cardinal Forgings in Rochelle, Illinois. Cardinal is an ISO-9000 qualified company, with state of the art forging presses, and numerically controlled/ISO-certified heat treatment ovens. They have a proven track record as leaders in quality and uniformity and are a major manufacturer of certified mil-spec components.
FA uses only mil-spec thick hard anodizing A8625, type III. Toughness and uniform material qualities create performance uniformity. Your FA receivers will always mate together and with other 7075-T6 upper receivers in the cold of winter or heat of summer. These precision receivers can form the base platform to any number of possible upper receiver configurations, servicing the full spectrum of demands from delivering toughness and reliability to holding the sub MOA accuracy required by the modern sportsman.
You will find FRANKFORD ARSENAL has done the research to bring you the best parts and components in our Receivers and Rifles. The owner of Frankford Arsenal told me that this info is from the manufacturer's site, and isn't original - but is accurate. I can tell you that they are very black and kind of "slick" feeling, and are a perfect color match for Rock River uppers.

The old Frankford Arsenal was in Florida also. A call to Oly confirmed that they indeed did make the receivers for Frankford Arsenal.
