Hey everyone!
Just joined the forum and wanted to say hello. I am new to the NFA world and am still waiting on the stamp for my Vector UZI. Can't wait to get it out on the range! I have been "lurking" for a couple of weeks now and felt it was time to introduce myself.
I was VERY lucky to find a dealer out here that has TWO yes TWO NIB Vector UZIs for $3095.00! I grabbed one up immediately and am very seriously considering getting the second for the same price. And they would have consecutive serial numbers to boot!
Anyway just wanted to say hello and hope to see you out on the range!

Dan, sounds like you did get a very fair price. More importantly though, you've got something that you're going to enjoy tremendously. If you don't already have some shooting buddies doing the full auto stuff, you'd be well served to connect up with other full auto shooters in your area. I find that it's much more fun that way when you're out shooting. I'm sure your dealer could tell you where some of the locals go shooting.
When did you send in your form 4? We'll be waiting to hear your first range report!

Dan,
Buy one, shoot and enjoy it and keep the other NIB. I think you'll find that the NIB will be a good investment in the future based on current trends...

RoverDave,
I sent my Form 4 in on 27 Jan. I called on Tuesday and they still do not me listed as pending for the transfer. I will check back in a couple of weeks. Once I know that I am at least pending for the transfer, I will relax. On pins and needles till then!
Based on what I have heard here, you all have convinced me to get the second NIB Vector and store it in the ole' vault for a while.
I am lucky in that there are several indoor gun ranges within 15 miles of where I live that allow FA weapons. Just have to demonstrate to the range operators that you can maintain control in FA. I can understand that. Can't wait to post my first range report!
Thanks!
Dan

Dan, I sent a form 4 in only five days before you. I've been thinking about calling to see if it's pending yet. Maybe I'll call tomorrow and check. Let's have a race and see who wins!

mdcarr-
Congrats on your new purchase and it sounds like your "newest" purchase yet to come. Now lets not be a HOG here, you do want to share the wealth don't you. Just kiddin' around with ya'. I mean it's great that you found the dealer who is having a 25% OFF sale on guns that will not exist after tomorrow. Just don't tell him until you have all the paperwork all filled out. YAA HOOO FOR YOU !! I don't live in a Class III state but it still makes me feel good to see one of my UZI brethren make a killin', maybe you can get him to throw in some of those IMI 32 rnd mags that have been laying around collecting dust? HHMMM? Anyhoo, welcome to the forum you filthy ba#$*%@. No, no, no, really great job and I'm sure you will love it here at UZITalk as it's a great place to exchange tips and info.:clap :thumbs_up :uzi :uzi

RoverDave,
Roger that on the race! The dealer had several Form 4s delayed because the Citizenship statement was not included in the application package. I was lucky in that I ran my application by the dealer for review just before I mailed it off and was told about this new requirement!

Dan, my citizenship form when in with my form 4 as well, so we've got a fair race going. My only fear is that they might whine about my fingerprint card and make me redo it. The local PD had trouble of getting one of my fingers to print without a crease it in. (It was a -20 degree day and my fingers were cold!) But they already have my prints on file so it really shouldn't matter.

and you can afford it now....by all means buy it immediately....or I will!!!
They have been sold out at Vector for a couple of months now.
The prices are rising and unless the laws are changed, they aren't coming back down.
Congratulations on your new purchase, and welcome to the boards. You will love the gun, as we all do.
Don't hesitate on that other one...you'll regret it very soon.

Hey Dan, my form 4 went pending on Feb 20th. Have you checked on yours yet? If you don't have it, the phone number is (202) 927-8330. You'll need the serial number of the gun and the name of the dealer doing the transfer.
In the past year, the form 4 turn around time that I've seen (my stuff and friend's stuff) has been pretty consistent. They've generally been very close to 90 days from pending until they stamp it approved. Then about 2-3 weeks from when they stamp it approved until the form 4 actually arrives at the dealer's place.

RoverDave,
You have the lead so far in the Form 4 race. Just called and my Form 4 went pending 28 Feb. Now that it is pending I can relax a little in knowing it made this far in the system!

mdcarr, I WIN! Just found out today my form 4 is back! Only 65 days from the day I dropped the form 4 in the mail until it was approved and back in my dealer's hand. I'm astounded. I'll pick it up on Sunday. By the way, it's an MP40.

RoverDave,
Congrats! Hard telling when I will see my Form 4 come back. Was this your first Class III purchase? I have heard it takes a while longer going through the process if it is your first purchase. The last Form 4's that my dealer got back has taken 6 months to process!
All the best and congrats!

No this was not my first form 4. I did not see any better turn around time after the first one until this one happened. Kind of a fluke I think. Everyone has a theory about how the forms are handled but the theories never seem to last long.
