I know, babes aren't supposed to be allowed to be Republicans: Republican Babes (http://www.jerseygop.com/R_babes/index.html).

I think Ashley Judd is one of the smartest and prettiest women working in Hollywood today and I was jazzed to see her pic listed with the other Rep. Babes of the Week. I went to click her pic and it said "Sorry, Ashley Judd is not a Republican". What gives ?:fork_off

Ann Coulter has that low-rent, trailer trash bimbo look (in that pic) that I always found attractive in my youth. :D

I know. I could not tell, but it looked like that was a Coors can beside her.

I was going to mention something about trailer trash but you never know who knows who. If I commented about someone, next thing you hear is "Hey, thats my wife!"

Kathy Ireland is not only pretty she is smart too. She kind of comes off as being kind of dense but if you listen long enough she will prove herself as she has that super model mono tone voice thing. Heck, she has her own line of clothing, furinture, house wares not to mention her own line of 1,000,000 guys to kneel down and worship her beauty. She ain't half bad.;)

Well, that makes me feel a lot better knowing what to expect on the road ahead. I think I might pass on the anti-christ level though. Maybe we can call ourselves whatever we want when we rach 2,000 ?

:D ;) :D

I guess if you call yourself that, nobody else will, just won't have the same meaning.;)

I had the opportunity to meet Ashley Judd right after the filming of 'Kiss The Girls'. She is most definately a female force to be reconed with. She's the first lady I've met that actually keeps a beautiful brunette assistant to follow her around and take care of everything. For anyone who hasn't met her, she's about 5' 4" tall - tops. Absolute darling.

We ended up talking smack at the bar prior to her sister Wynona's album release showcase in downtown Nashville that evening. Totally down to earth and VERY sef-assured. Private parties with the stars - woohoo! :D

Bunker Hill-

She is so smart and talented and so different from her MOM. What a ditz, have you seen her on Star Search with Arsenio Hall lately ? The woman is unstable (in a happy way it seems). Ashley seems so intelligent and well spoken and overflowing with self confidence. And now (well recently, married to Dario Frankete the F-1 driver) POOP !!!!! I an happily married but appreciate a beautiful woman when I see one. How long ago did you see her ?

I suppose it was around 1997/98. I had just recently seen 'Kiss The Girls' starring her and Morgan Freeman (suspense/thriller) in which she had long hair. That night when I met her she had cut it off above her shoulders which caused me not to recognize her at first.

I was an employee at the Hard Rock Cafe, Nashville at the time, and Wynonna had chosen to set up a large stage out front to showcase a few songs (only three actually) for her new album release. I believe this was her first album after her mother quit the business because of her health.

The Hard Rock gets leased out regularly for private parties. These were mainly "by invitation only" parties thrown by record companies complete with ice sculptures and plenty of booze! :) All of the Judds were there that night, as well as various other stars and friends of the family. Wynonna and her back up singers did an interview from the little indoor stage there following the major performance outside. The entire downtown area was completely packed with people for the outdoor show. It was a free show with the stage being set up directly on the corner of 2nd & Broadway near the river in downtown Nashville. Compared to all the masses of folks filling the streets outside, it was relativey nice inside - not packed at all.

Wynonna actually arrived earlier that afternoon by herself on her purple Harley Davidson! She did the outdoor show, then the inside (radio) show, then everyone just hung around socializing and getting toasted. :D

I met mother Naomi just inside the front door and she was actually a very personable lady. I think she was extremely proud of her children. I remember Wynonna referring to Ashley as the big "drama queen" of the family after landing what was her first major role in a hit movie.

I first saw Ashley as she was coming out of the party room. She was the one Judd I was hoping would show up that night, and my first eye contact with her was marked by a confident and friendly smile. Yes, she melted me. ;)

My buddy Shane was working behind the bar, so I ended up hanging out there with him while Ashley was enjoying a drink and smoking cigars with the folks there. We ended up talking a little about people we knew. She spoke about her assistant and other friends that I didn't recognize, and I yapped about my coworkers, my music, and the general free-for-all that was taking place that night. Her word for the night was "delicious" which she used to puctuate various points. :) Later on, Wynonna pulled her up on the small indoor stage during the radio interview. I'd still like to get a copy of that interview since I was probably ten feet away from them while it was going on.

Wynonna's back up singers were fabulous singers! They busted out in an accapella harmony right there on stage and sent shivers up my spine. The stage was set not unlike the average Jay Leno stage, but with a big ol' fluffy couch in place of chairs. We had to use the couch out of the downstairs 'Green Room' since all we had otherwise were restaurant chairs.

As the night wound down and the lights went up, it was just me and three of the assistant servers left on the floor chatting after a general cleanup of the place. Wynonna came up from downstairs and stopped to chat for a while before going outside to face her fans which were lined up at the bus outside. I never did determine what happened with her Harley. I suppose someone drove it home for her since her anonymity was blown after rallying the entire city for the impromptu concert via local radio (it was a suprise show).

She ended up being quite an 'attractive' woman and was entirely humble. She spoke with me about her fan's regard for her and her music. I'm not an overpopular signed artist myself (yet :)), but I completely understood where she was coming from. An artist's self-esteem isn't as well founded as one might think simply because of the praise and resulting popularity an artist receives from being commercialized. She's no doubt a very strong woman, and she earned an immense amout of respect from me that night by letting her guard down amongst our little band of strangers (four people chatting in the middle of a big ornate room full of rock star memorabilia).

All in all it was an excellent evening - one of many that I spent accomodating the country music industry and its artists in downtown Nashville. Other artists that I remember frequenting our establishment were Travis Tritt, Pam Tillis, George Strait, Jim "Ernest" Varney, Brooks & Dunn, Amy Grant, Vince Gill, Aerosmith, Rob Zombie's bass player (forget her name), Green Day, Vivica A. Fox, Steve Earle, Harlan Howard, Trisha Yearwood (excellent performance to a private crowd), Kevin Bacon & his brother (forget his name), Suzie Boggus, Emmy Lou Harris, CCR's singer (forget his name - little guy), and a few others.

I had to escape to work on my own bit. It was a cool scene while it lasted through.

Must have been nice while it lasted, I look forward to all of her movies and will even brave it through a chick flick to see her. Saw her in the YA Ya sisterhood and she had a small part in Frida. It is about time for her to come out with another leading role for sure. Thanks for your nice story it was great to hear from a personal point of view. I still think her MOM is wacky though.
