I seem to recall cameras being a no-no at some of the gunshows I've attended. The stuff that's going to be at the SAR show is going to be so cool I want to bring a camera. Do any of you guys who have been there in the past know of any restrictions?

use a camera phone .
i think that rule apply so no evidence or trade secrect ,etc.
but the individual vendors has the last say in pic taking.
Many Trade show also restricts camera use .

I seem to remember a "No cameras" sign last year, but I also remember seeing some people take photos. If you could sneak it it, most vendors would probably allow you to take photos.

I almost got in a fist fight with a vendor last year because he was taking pictures that had me in them. Cameras are generally banned and disliked by many people for a host of reasons.

That said, I bring one but am VERY VERY carefull about when and where I used it. If there is something I want a shot of, I contact the vendor, get their permission (after getting the show promotors permission as well) and if possible, take the item to an isolated place to take a picture.

Lots of stuff at SAR you will have never seen before...I don't blame you for wanting to capture it!

Michael, you're never going to make it in Hollywood with an attitude like that. Oh wait, it works for Sean Penn. :D

In my opinion only criminals and those cheating on thier wives would not want thier pictures taken with guns.

David,

Some people's opinion is that anyone who wants to own a gun is either a criminal or violent. People's opinions are often wrong and or irrelevant.

I was there with a friend who has reasons beyond either of yours for not having her picture taken...her reasons are neither criminal nor decietful.

Cameras have been banned, or strictly controlled at most gun shows for decades and for a varieity of reasons. Various insurance and theft scams among them.

Stymie,

I have never had a disagreement with Vector or Rex and have talked about doing contract work with them a couple of times, they just can't afford me.

As for the picture, it is close but I am seldom seen without my beautiful seductive and very cruel queen....

David is right. The jig is up. We love our guns more than our wives:

- We have more guns than wives.
- We spend more on gun accessories than wife accessories.
- We baby our guns more than our wives.
- We long for form 4's more than anniversary cards.

A picture of you and your gun is proof of cheating and grounds for divorce. You have been warned.
