MWG 50 rounder is a tear drop shaped 50 rd drum made for 10/22.Cost $79.00 I odered mine in late sept arrived 11/22,from cenerfire.
drum comes with a small loading tool, they are clear plastic, with rubber conver belt that holds each round. The directions are well written ,with color pictures.after the 1st time loading isnt that bad, helps to be sitting down, not something you would want to do in the woods.
so far I only have about 4 drums thru my 10/22.I used a 1982 10/22 with a double trigger that was sold as hell fire in 80's.
200 rounds I had 1 fail to fire.nose of winchester xpert22 hollow pt bent up.that was the only 1 problem.
MWG ninety rounder is a snail drum that they make for m-16 and mini-14.I got the mini -14 model $125 from centerfire.
the drum is large, black with clear back so you can see rounds.the drum's down fall is it sits off to the left side so far I can't reach the forearm.I found that holding drum or just before it worked,by folding stock on ac556 and shooting from hip it rocked.
compairing to beta mag they both use stripper strips and a tool to push down rds,the mwg also has a strip of plastic to slide into loader ,then you drop loose rounds in and load ,I liked having that feature.I now have 2 drums thru my ac556 no jams or problems.overall I like drums ,this one works, but sticking out to the left side is something to get used to.2nd with a drum you need self control not to blaze away or youll melt the thin ruger barrel.
I noticed that on both drums there is smooth marks where they may have been marked "evil"- exported?
I received my unmarked beta mags today,my 1st ones I ordered before ban, these I ordered end of september, guess production is gearing up.
the beta mag would be nice to have a clear back, and more tower combintions also 308.
