View Full Version : Crinkle/Powdercoat finish

Just got off the phone with Stan's Guns. I want to finish a mount to match his paint on the DLO tube. Here's what he recommends:

Paint: PJ1 Fast Black Wrinkle Paint Mfr. # 16-WKL, 3 coats.

Do not confuse with the VHT Black wrinkle paint made for valve covers and also from PJ1. You want the Yellow & Black can made for motorcycle engines, etc. rated to 500 degrees F.

Do not directly apply paint. Instead spray on a piece of paper and take up with a paint brush. Using the brush, apply thin coat. Wait 5 min or so for it to "flash over". Apply second coat, wait 5 minutes. Apply third coat.

Just passin' it on...
