Discussion relating to the Tavor and the Galil /Valmet firearms families.
Several years ago I started to look for information on building a South African R-4 and R-5 clone. I found most of the information scattered and hard to find. This forum was a great help in finding the information I was looking for and the parts I needed. I have been meaning to post a consolidated...
I'm sure someone here has a good list to start a Galil "sticky" on parts and accessories suppliers like the one in the Sterling forum. Is there enough info or interest.
For starters, I believe we have a bunch of Members with a wealth full of info and picture to share. jmikesteen, emerz, YOG, jetskrtal , jyuzamas, and others; please if you folk can contribute to build a Galil Library it would really help the Galil community. With the Century Kits hitting the...
I've put up a mirror of the old page with Galil model info . . . http://users.rcn.com/philistine/galil/Galil_Rifles.html (Updated the original link -- Noah Zark, 17 Sep 2007)
If you have an ORF or century galil or have assembled a working rifle on an ORF receiver and have tried to snap an Orlite mag in place you have discovered that it simply cant happen due to a couple of dimensional problems with the ORF receiver. A std steel mag will snap right in but the orlite wont...
A number of people have asked about AK bolt carriers in the Galils. Here are pics of 2 of my 3 Galils that have them. They are AK47 stainless carriers. The top rifle is a 7.62, the lower is 5.56 which is also shown with top cover off. off.
What Galil do you have? You may select multiple.
I have a CAI Golani in 5,56. It's a great weapon if I run steel case ammunition. However, with brass not so much. The culprit seems to be the extractor spring. That got me to thinking. Would an extractor spring from an AK47 or AK74 work as a good replacement? Also, what parts are compatible with...
My Galil ARM has a loose gas block that won稚 allow the hammer to reset. I removed the gas block roll pins (they were all beat up) and replaced them with new roll pins. Everything was nice and snug. Gas port alignment was fine. I took it to the range and after four shots the gas block had moved...
Good morning, This is just a continuation of a previous thread: http://www.uzitalk.com/forums/showthread.php?79518-What-do-you-guys-use-to-mounts-a-red-dot-on-a-Galil/page3 So I finally got the rifle back from the gunsmith. Rifle mount fits snugly and doesn't look too awkward.
Finally figured out (I think) that they are the same animal. They were blocked to prevent loading of ball ammo and only allow blanks to be loaded. All that aside, where is the best place to get them from? I see some for sale that still have the block in them, some it's already removed. I would...
Hey guys, I知 having an LM4 and an LM5 built currently. I know these had the Lyttelton engravings. What about the LM6? Did they too have the Lyttelton engraving? Thanks!
Who is Making Galil receivers these days? Is it just TortTort, Lewis & Black, CNC Warrior, and ATI Or is there someone else making a good quality receiver? I think I知 missing a name.

Question for everybody. Does anyone know where to get a butt stock 'tube' for a Galil? I'm getting ready to send mine to Hillbilly and can't find one anywhere. Some one on here told me what size of carbon fiber tube I could use but I didn't write it down. Thanks in advance, Andy
