Inherited a Dedal 40 Russian night vision scope and was wondering if anyone here has any experience with them. Have yet to get a battery for it and have the case and "very" vague instructions.

Don't get your hopes up, Jim. A guy I run into at the local shows sells some night vision scopes and I once asked him about the stuff coming in from Russia. He just put his head in his hands and started muttering. Some of them have been modified to use common batteries-- but if not, you may have a job finding an original.

When in doubt, empty the magazine.
This takes a K58L Kodak 3 volt battery. Can't wait to see how well/bad it works. From the info I'm coming up with, these sold for over 1K.

Correction, I believe this takes 3 of the Radio Shack 23-265 batteries.
