    M10-9mm double-feed mags

What's the story of the Walther made-for-MAC 9mm double feed mags..

..were they converted from another Walther or made specifically for M.A.C.?

The Walther mags weren't surplus Walther mags, but rather made specifically FOR the Mac by Walther. The two mags are significantly different. The original 9mm Mac/Walther mags were a deep, rich, well polished blue. Original Walther mags (for Walthers) are a medium grey park. Original wather made mags have completely different locations for mag well stops as well as front and rear magwell spacers and appearance.

Never saw a CMP mag I liked. They were really hit or miss and all the ones I got my hands on were misses.

RPM had their own mag made. It had rolled edges and was as lousy as the CMP mags. Two originally came with my RPB M-10, didn't take me long to off them.

The only other dual position mag that works really good in the PS and RPB guns is a properly converted Suomi mag. Helps when you start with the proper outer shell. The innards are similar to Walther innards. Possible differences include the follower finish and spring design. Some followers have black paint, some are chromed, some mag springs are round coil, others are square coil.

Any idea why Walther stopped making them for M.A.C.?

Not sure if I've seen the RPM mag, does it have any particular markings?

Just quit when the new MAC SMGs went away (mid 1980's I'm guessing).

Today it would be WAY too expensive to produce the same quality as they were.

Ha... a brain fart. I meant to type RPB, not RPM. When the Walthers ran out, they attempted to make their own mag. It really sucked... even the after market mags were marginally better than the RPB mags. I still have two of them. I'll get a pic up of one soon.
