I bought an NFA HK93 and the paper work should be back in October. I want to put a shorter barrel on it 8 or 10 inches. Have never owned an HK, what has to be done, what parts do I need to buy? Can I do it?

You need a hydraulic press and a drill press to change the barrels. Old barrel is pressed out of the barrel trunnion and the new barrel is pressed in. A few tons of pressure needed. Then the barrel and trunnion need to be drilled for the barrel retaining pin that also is pressed into place with one or two tons of pressure. Over at HKPro.com search for barrel changing threads. There's a lot of education to be had there. HK smiths like Ghilliebear2000 or the Chopstix Kid and others can handle your project and advise what parts are needed. HKParts.net has the 8"+ barrel that you mentioned.

Trust in the Lord, but keep your powder dry.
Did you get a sear or a registered receiver? +1 on having Ghilliebear work on your gun either way, he built a MP5 and a 33K that are hosts for my sear and his quality of work and communication can't be beat. In fact I'll be sending him a MP5/40 kit in a few weeks.
Good luck on your project.

I've done biz with Ghilliebear as well and would recommend him.
