" Official " Front sight tool for the Galil ?? Is there one ??

    Guy's
Took the SAR out to the range today and needed to adjust the front sight post and I didn't have anything with me that would work. I would like to have the Original Tool for the job so I was wondering is there one ?? and where can you find one ??

Another source is Investment Grade Firearms, which offers AK/Galil front sight tool (it's heavy duty) for $15 although they are on backorder. www.investmentgradefirearms.com/igfproducts.htm

The Uzi front sight tool with the 90 degree handle (not T-handle) also works.

I have a kit like the one in the gunbroker ad. The sight adjustment tool works fine. Have used it many times.

The tool pictured in this kit is exactly the same as the one issued with R series rifles here in SA. It also has a punch pin attached to it and one end is a flat screw driver to set the horizontal plane of the front sight. They work very well.

I have full-complete Israeli plastic cleaning kits available for sale that includes these combo tools. The kits sell for $100 to $140 on Gunbrokers, however I am offering them for $49.99 plus shipping. I accept PayPal (identify them as goods). I have them posted on UziTalk, FalFiles and eBay if you would like to view pictures. The combo tools have Israeli Stamp Markings on the combo tool.

Now this is a great deal. Do you have any for the .308?

    make your own

i bought a cheap screw driver and cut the shank down then cut a slot in it. easy to do if you have access to a die grinder and the handle is nice.

Here is my front sight tool. I can't recall where I got it, but I think it came with a AK-47 I had. Can anybody confirm if the AK-47 front sight tool will work on a Galil's front sight pin? Also can anybody confirm my tool is for a AK? Thanks Lou

RM308, WHere did you get that tool? Is that the one that comes in the R4 tool kit? Will the punch work on the folding stock pin? Thanks Lou

That's the sight tool that comes with the Galil cleaning kit. Most of the Galil cleaning kits come with one. Make sure it is included however before buying one as I've seen cleaning kits without the tool.

I also needed a sight tool at the range one day... didn't have one, all 3 bays past me didn't have one (or an AK tool) either. But one day on instagram I saw someone who modified a snap-on valve stem removal tool as a bench tool for adjusting AK type sights:

Reminded me that some valve stems on farm/implements have core removal caps:

But looking back, there were probably no tractors at the range that day
