Rye, I'm only on the other side of the state from you. Just a 4-5 hour jaunt over. When you want to see if it works with a different lower let me know.

It always makes me smile a little to see this topic come back up. I've got a shit ton of 12 gauge ready to go! The only down side of this I see is that those 25 round drums are going to take up a lot of space.... because I'll need at least 10.

One of these will help. So I got 3 of them. I’m thinking now that this is really starting to come together... why build one when I could build 2? I will if I can manage it. A 410 version is not out of the question. 12 ga is the holy grail I seek, but 410 might also nice.. higher capacity magazines.

Here we go- a good, hard 12% complete. I had to source some Individual components, these parts get rails that my smith will drill and tap, so they can be mounted in the upper housing as the Mac “interface”

So are you basically making it layed out like the 11/15.... But with a saiga receiver? With the mag hanging down just forward of the m11/9 lower?

You’re pretty warm there! The tricky part is overall length & “hammer follow” - I’d like to get it as short as possible but the shorter it is, the more problematic that may be. I have a couple of good possible solutions for that, though!

Made me think of a similar quote from the 1997 movie, "Contact"

Cool idea. I bought 2 and put them together for a glock upper. Need to weld in the trunnion.

Where did you get your uppers?

Can you share a pic of the bottom side? I had some concern about the bolt hitting any misaligned edges. That’s awesome!!

It was pretty simple to align the uppers. I used a 1x 1 x 1/6 piece of aluminum tube from the big box store. It was a tad bit loose but some aluminum flashing as shims on the opposite sides for welding made it nice and tight for alignment . The tube also had nice sharp corners so no blobs if there was over penetration.

Thank you! That’s excellent! How do intend to add the upper pin block, as that is usually inserted into the channel? Not a huge issue for me- on my 12 upper, the channel is bolted in- and the receiver pin block is a separate piece that “floats” below but is also attached to the upper housing.

I will do it somewhat like I did with my old modified Lage Max31A upper. It will be an assembly welded on the mag housing... or a variety quick attach mag housings.
