Lage is shipping me some extra long dual recoil rods. Iím proud to say this thing will include work & parts from 6 or 7 different states, at least. 3 years into this now and itís starting to feel closer than ever.

Second run of side plates, these are of much better quality. Every piece must be perfect to be build ready- no exceptions!! And Lage parts arrived. More work ahead!

I performed this test and it wasnít too exciting, worked as expected. It was a little tricky holding the upper channel in place at the right angle for the sear when it doesnít have a trunnion in it. This just underscores how critical it will be to get the positioning correct. Iíll be using a custom die built on a stock upper to ensure alignment. What I did find that was critical was a collision between the 12 gauge bolt and the recoil rods. Easily resolved by using a traveling rod & external buffer tube - which was always a strong possibility. The buffer will be easily concealed in the M60 stock.

Upper housing parts are being machined today. Side plates get engraved this week. I have some revisions to make and then some additional parts to be machined. When all of those parts are ready we can start some serious building.

How will the rear of the receiver be held? I plan to start on a prodject of similar nature in the next year if my transfer would ever get approved.

Just a mounting block- one end fits in the rear of the upper, the other fits into the M60 stock.

Shotgun upper sandwich, looking up at the bottom. Excuse the wood spacers... but the Mac upper channel will be suspended between the plates from above, while the reciver pin mount is actually a separate piece also mounted between the plates. Together these provide the same “footprint” as a stock Mac upper.

You can see the recoil rod/ springs and 3D printed bolt in the upper channel.

It'll look best mounted & emptying magazines! Part work continues- that will take a while but it's all necessary to get us to the grail. MANY steps, but each brings us closer.
