Be careful with your layout, that knot can really screw things up!

Yep- going to cut it from the center for optimal grain exposure. No knot!

Save the scrap wood, it will make beautiful grip panels for pistols.
You can fill the knot with a mixture of sawdust and epoxy.

Meanwhile, at the donkey factory... upper housing construction is slow- it is a lot of holes. I will be making a dummy bolt for alignment- critical to ensuring the upper components are joined together properly.

Updated ETA for upper housing is EOW this week. Great overall progress... and painfully slow work... weíre getting there!

Another week, more waiting. This is why this has taken 3 years. That being said I chatted with the shop today and the additional time is necessary for proper alignment.. Iím happy to wait for that. The DMAC work will fill the down time!

A little welding and the Mounting tab screws get sawed off. More work tomorrow.

As you can see I believe in labeling my parts to mitigate the risk of gunsmith malpractice.

Itís about ELEVEN POUNDS at the moment, with the mount adapter not in.

    1919a4 is about 30lbs
    M249 SAW ~17lbs

Still at the low end of the target range. Nice.

Ha- at this point how could it be anything else? What can I say three years later I’m still in the hunt and getting so very close...

When you see a fully automatic shotgun and it’s love at first sight and the man at the shop says we don’t have those and when you ask when there might be more he says never so you go home and make one your damn self.

After disassembly the hinge for the Top cover was just not drilled right so Iíve requested a new part.. itís discouraging when work is not done properly- and it really bogs down the work, but the quest continues. When I get the new part weíll do it a step at a time to ensure it is correct. This will provide time for me to work on the internal assembly of the Mac upper channel and the shotgun component housing.

Owning a Unicorn ain't easy, especially if you have to breed the Rhino to the Horse!
Seriously, when you get it done, take it to the MG Shoots (the Creek, NUTS, etc) and sell Trigger Time; I figure you'll recover your investment pretty quickly. I'd pay to shoot it! (If you take it to Knob Creek, I'll make the trip just for that!)

Not a bad idea- I do love going there and I do enjoy seeing people have fun shooting.. Maybe at some point. Gotta get it running first!
