    Magwell Grips ???

Anyone use one for one of these SMGs??

My thinking is a point of contact - positive purchase - without hanging onto the barrel shroud or the magazine itself, which we all know to be no bueno.

Just thinking out loud and looking for some insight.

    Thanks,

Never was a fan of grabbing the magwell, seen a few KaBooms and they always send a bunch of crap down the magwell after they blow the magazine apart. Granted, the AR15 has a substantial piece of metal there but most designs don't and your pinky is still exposed on an AR. Your hand is also directly below the chamber, which is where they tend to split apart when the bbl fails.

Call me old fashioned but there's probably a reason they put wood or plastic thingies on the bbl that are in a convenient place to grab hold of... I'm no designer, but it seems grabbing it further away from the other points of contact increases the leverage to hold it steady or fight recoil?

OTOH, if you do grab the magwell these look like they would enhance your grip some.

If your barrel is free floated, forearm pressure doesn't matter.
Also depends on expected range and accuracy.

Sorry guys, I was not specific enough.
Not AR related, though those links are AR specific.

I meant for the SW76 SMG design. That is the barrel shroud I do NOT wish to hang onto.

If you could buy/modify/make a Magwell Cover that didn't touch the magazine itself, it should work.
It would be much easier to modify a rail to fit the shroud and attach a foregrip

Howdee guys, this one looks promising, EXCEPT you need a rail to mount it to. It is designed to be able to sit right up against the magwell on an AR.....
The geometry looks correct for what I am looking for. Hell I would even be interested in experimenting with it.....is there a way to mount a rail to the barrel shroud???

The easiest way would be to weld it. But if you can cut, weld, and grind, you could fab up your own grip.

Modify rail by grinding the contact side to match tube diameter.
