    Spring match - the Creek

Any UT members going? Submitted ATF forms & match entry. I won’t be down south anymore after June and wanted to go one more time.

    What are the dates?
Depending on son's next surgery date, which isn't set yet, I may try.
    Do they still rent MGs?

April 13-15 or thereabouts, pretty sure you can still rent MGs & step up to the line. I’ve admired some sweet machines but never rented or stayed for the night shoot, always attended the matches in the AM then go to hit bourbon bars in the city. Sadly I’ll probably miss the fall shoot.. last “spring” shoot I attended had sleet coming down as the match started!

I once did an annual LE Qualification in sleet.

That’s cools Snipe- how did that go? Did it present any special challenges?

I'm actually leaning towards skipping it this year. Between the frustration of them messing up the paperwork every time, and the cost for a 2-3 minute course run... It's just not feeling like it's worth it. Maybe I'll bring a gun or two just in case I change my mind, we'll see.

Not really. It was pistol quals, so farthest shots were 25 yards, and
    the sleet wasn't very heavy.
Some of the shooters complained about cold hands, but I would put my hands in my coat pockets between strings.

Yep sounds right. I wore gloves to stay warm but then took them off to shoot, for finer touch. My only real concern last year was I had trained for a few possibilities but not sleet/ snow and I was a little concerned about my gear but luckily the Mac is a simple machine, and it plowed through with no issues.. just had to dry off my dropped mags.

Are you the guy that tried to tell me my bolt was forward, and managed to not laugh when I dropped a loaded Suomi drum on my foot?

Believe it or not, I've shot in worse conditions!

It's possible, had too many things going on all at once that weekend. I'm the guy who had the M3 Grease Gun with the red dot last fall.
