I’ve noted two completely different followers and springs used in coffin mags. One spring type is brittle and appears to snap into several pieces. If you haven’t disassembled and inspected your mags and their springs, I’d do so.

"Here is my proposition. We offer to your community user group the opportunity to participate in a no risk program to identify serious individual purchasers of replacement dual magazine spring sets for their niche market. In order to justify undertaking the project, we will require a pre-production consideration deposit of $10.00 per set of two springs. The springs will be manufactured from chrome silicon wire stock, and will be plated in re-micronized MOS2 plus cryogenic processed for optimization of duty cycles.

klyph12 do you know what material the new springs will be made of?
Vegas has highlighted what the springs are made of -- you have 45 days to check your mag springs.

Just for comparison - I measured the springs of 4 mags -- 4 ranged from 9" to 9.5", the other 4 were 10" to 10.25" -- I supplied Springco with this info, btw -- it would appear the short springs had taken a "set" and you can feel some difference when loading.

There might be a warehouse full of mags and springs out there somewhere, but this might be the only opportunity to get replacements

Ok understood. I'll be shipping a check in the next 2 weeks to cover 4 sets. Please do a final call to say if we aren't making the cut. I and probably others would bump up my order if need be to make the threshold.

This sounds awesome, however it also sounds like Greek to me. Can somebody who knows confirm this is what you want in springs?

They are great except you can't get replacement springs. Hence this thread!

Iíll take 30 sets. Call me a greedy asshole but if this a one time thing those springs could double or triple in value at some point in the future.

My MO will be in the mail this week.

The springs are no good if I don't have any mags. Why have the mags not gone back into production?

The mags are beautiful examples of WWII vintage manufacturing and will likely never be made again. If new production mags were to be made, I'd expect them to cost $300+ due to the limited market, complex design, etc.

As a friend often says, "the good old days are now!"

These springs will likely be worth more than what you pay for them down the road...

God I hate coffin mags. Seriously. Using them that is. Drums on the other hand...sweeeet.
My version of hell will be me sitting at a range hand loading Coffin mags...for eternity.
I've gotten enough of a taste for that already. Even with the loader ....oh spare me.

    hahahahaha..

I prob. should order some as I def. have some boogered springs....but since I never shoot 'em whats the point?
    hmmm.
