I have had a couple over the years, nice smooth shooters. But mags are tough to find. Ended up trading them off for other toys

I bought one in the 1980's it has been a great gun lots of rounds and no problems . I have three magazines it would be nice if they where marked 556 or 7.62x39 is there any way to tell them a part ?

I have two 5.56 Norinco 84s. One is the underfold and the other is fixed stock.
Have you tried the KVAR AK mags in 5.56. They are expensive, but they fit my
    Norinco 84s in 5.56

Do you have both? Look at them next to each other. The 7.62 mag body has more of a curve to it, the 5.56 mag is straighter.

My 84-S must have a rough chamber. It will routinely get cases stuck after shooting them. The extractor will often pull the rim off trying to extract. I had thought it was a steel case issue, because that's what started it. But it does it with brass also.

I keep thinking I need to try to polish the chamber, but I haven't attempted it yet. So I haven't shot the gun in a few years. One of these days...

Polishing the chamber did the trick on a 5.45 AK I have.
