brp has what appears to be minty ones for $30...or its just a really nice pic

desert fox.com has them for $19.95 and they also look minty....

i suspect reality on both may be 'good' not excellent....ive emailed both of them....willing to pay for the BRP ones if they are nicer....if they are the same blah (whats left of sten mags) then the $19 ones are good enough.

gunbroker has 10 of them on poor condition for for $200 BIN....id have to paint them/refinish them...

i would think there would still be millions of these mags...but they must all be in peoples collections...finding quality probably isnt going to happen unless i pay $70 a mag and buy 1 at a time which isnt happening...

    just looking for decent mags

The $30 ones that I bought from BRP about a year ago were mint. If they're the same, you won't be disappointed.

I have ~100 of them that I bought for $3 each or less back when I was in college. You should have done that.

    Seems unlikely since I'm 32

OOW sold them in 10 packs back around 06 for $30. Even within the last few years CFS had 20 packs for $100.

Anyone remeber when CDNN was using the Sten mag as packing material??

    That's where they all went.
I remember calling them as saying there are 4 sten mags in my order I didn't order.
And they said they were packing material .

That's how many there were floating around back in the late 90's and early 2000's
Now most are in private hands and people want money for them.

CF upped their Sten price and they are pretty much toast.
I ordered the 100 20 pack for the MAX 10/31 and to say they are whooped is a under statement.
fixable yes but def everyone has issues.

Yep sten mags as packing material. They probably bought them back then from European sources as scrap metal just to get rid of them. Now look at the price.

Awesome, I'm glad it worked out for you.

For all the talk about what mags used to cost, it's irrelevant. You used to be able to buy a Sten for the cost of the tax stamp, a new Porsche for $10,000, and a house for $30,000. It only matters what they cost now, and $25 for mags like that is fantastic. MP5 mags, Sterling mags, and a litany of other mags cost more than that.

I bought a ton of cheap mags that I can fix up, and a couple dozen excellent ones. I wish I had just bought twice as many excellent mags and no cheap mags. It's not worth re-finishing them and forming the feed lips.

Great score!!!! They look amazing. Just keep in mind that, that ejector in the pic is for a MkI and will not work in a MKII! MKII are welded in and not user replaceable. They require to be cut out and the new one be shaped and welded back in. I’d say “Most” of the stens out there use the MKII welded version. But free is free :-)

I don't mind refinishing mags or guns.

For converiting the stens over to the max 10/31 5 bux a mag is about all they were worth to me.

Each mag came with 4 free sticks of brass for brazing on the tabs too.

But for new mags 25 isn't to bad.

BRP is good for tossing in extras it's one thing i really like about them.
Spend 200 bux and ya almost always get a cracler ja k suprise in the box.
