Few threads on this recently since apex put their kits on sale.

Be easiest to start with a complete receiver. Weld in a blocking bar and use a semi bolt and firing pin. There may be some other things you'd need to do, but those seem to be the biggest ones.

The APEX kits are great you can get a repair section from BWE and build it up with the blocking bar and either convert the bolt or buy one and get or make a striker also.

You will need to also convert the PG over to semi by welding in a tab to keep it from engaging the FA very easy also the way the grip is setup.
You can also convert the top cover over to semi bolt hold open with some welding or you can just remove the ratchet prawl and have instant semi auto top cover.

UZI is a easy build if you take your time and can weld. It also gets easier with more tools but simple hand tools, welder and a drill press.

I used an IMI receiver to use as a base to make a Jig.....although many people set OAL off of the top cover.

The problem is that all that does is set OAL....it may/may not properly locate the crucial points in the correct position (ejection port/trigger group lug/etc).

The Cajun Country reweld jigs are essentially crap......good only for using as weld backing material...
