Glock drums are cheap, PPSh drums aren't too bad, Thompson drums are somewhat affordable.
The upper is really designed around rifle cal stuff but I figured it would be cool to have the option of pistol cal stuff, especially with the CMMG delayed blowback bolts and barrels on the market.

Glock drums make less sense outside of the grip IMHO. They would stick out too much for my taste. PPSh drums would be great, shame I missed out on the cheap ammo but it's not too expensive. That would be cool. Thompson drums are too expensive for me. So PPSh or Soumi? I wonder what the RPM would be with the CMMG. Being an m11 and "A1" owner, the CMMG 45 might be interesting actually. Anyway, realistically people will probably buy whatever adaptors you offer once they've bought the upper.

I know drums exist for the Scorpion EVO. I have no idea about the quality of the drums as I don't own any. I don't have a lot of interest in a drum for a semi automatic. Being able to use them on a M10/11/etc would change my desire to find out how good they are. However, the EVO magazines make sense because they are actually designed to be SMG mags, they are inexpensive, and are offered by several manufacturers.

I'm not an engineer so there may be a reason I just don't see, but I have never understood why there isn't a Glock magazine well conversion for the various MACs. We have Sten and Uzi conversions, it seems like doing a Glock conversion would offer a much more comfortable grip along with easily available and inexpensive magazine options. One of my M10s is currently at Practical Solutions for an Uzi magwell conversion. If there was a Glock magazine conversion available I probably would have gone for that instead.

Glock magwell conversions would not be a big deal if you only wanted to run longer 33 round stick mags. The mags sit so high in a MAC that you could not use 17-rd Glock mag without the grip being as short as a small grip 380 M11.

This would not be a problem with a front mounted magwell like a Max-31 or UltiMac because you do not need to grip the magwell with the shooting hand.

I personally wouldn't want glock mags for the gun I own two glocks and while the angle is right for a grip I'm gust not so sure it's right for a forward magwell.

Well at least not looks wise I'm sure it would work 100% just look funky.

Suomi drums are starting to become like the coffins with price. So there is a option that is drying up and not getting any cheaper.

Other then 10mm and possibly 7.62x25 All I'd really care for would be the rifle stuff.
I have the Flemmig .22 upper and I'm one of the few that has one that runs.
And I have the 10/31.

For 45 ACP I prefer the M10 in stock config with the mini UZI stock.

Of course all the pistol conversions are welcome and the two I mention 10mm and 762 TOK are only personal preference due to my low cost of reloading the rounds.

PPSH drums will work with 9mm as will most TOK mags.
My CMMG 45 setup runs around 600 rpm, I'd imagine the Ultimac would be a touch faster due to shorter travel.
Duly noted on the magwell adapters. I plan to make a bunch because......why not?

Not with this upper, but I have an upper almost completely designed that uses LR10 components (BCG, Barrel, Handguard) and has a fixed magwell for SR25/LR10 mags.
I asked a few friends about doing it with a G3 magwell but got shot down.
No telling if I'll ever actually bring it to market, I don't figure there's much market for shooting expensive 308 out of a mac.

I had a post here a while back talking about the DP28 mags and think that would be awesome to use with a Mac. Gives you cheap full power caliber in inexpensive mags they are $35 each on apex.

So when it comes to designing the belt fed upper if you can look into the DP28 / DPM mags and see if it’s a possibility.

And when it comes to 22LR a way of slowing or changing the ROF would be awesome.

The lead engineer from dead air was at a silencer shoot about 1-2 years. He had a FA 22 AR and he had made a mod to the bolt to slow it down. It was really nice I had a thread on Arfcom about it. It essentially was a ball and detent design. It provided a small amount of friction when in the closed position and fully opened. I thought one could go a step further by adding a small torx screw to but up against the spring cup that way the user could add or decrease the amount of pressure on the spring and ball allowing it to be tuned to the load. If I can find the thread will hot link it here.

Definitely design the 22LR adjustable for bolt weight and spring pressure. The wider the range the better.

The CMMG radial delayed blowback uses a proprietary barrel extension, bolt, and bolt carrier. Will their carrier work in this system? Do you need/want a beta tester for it? I have an m10 and a 45ACP CMMG.

Yup, Bazooka Brothers had a how-to on that a while back. They use it in place of the anti-bounce weight, but it can be used to moderate rate of fire in 22lr systems.
The issue with the 22 conversion is the amount of travel I have to have to get it to work with the factory sear. I'm working on it, but it's taken a back seat to the obvious: getting UltiMacs in peoples hands.

I built a number of kit guns including a DP28. While the pan mags would be cool, It would have to be on an AR10 sized upper, top/belt fed, and it would require a very modified bolt to work with the 54R round.
Entertaining as heck, unless you're the guy building it.

I'm not very creative when it comes to stuff like that.
I wanted to call it the "Redneck rifle upper" but thankfully I have friends that:
1. Are much more creative and artistic than I am

Enough folks have emailed me about the Suomi stuff that I thought it would be handy to mention that my magwell will work with original Suomi stick mags.
I'm sure it will work with the single feed mags as well, but double feed $20 36 round suomi mags will work fine.

The bolt and barrel need to be swapped out.
The DOLOS quick change barrel/handguard system works fine with my upper, so barrel changes are easy and fast.
Bolt changes take a couple minutes, but that's not insurmountable.

It's modular so those of us who are broke or really cheap can swap it around to whatever we want, but it's inexpensive enough that most people can buy more than one upper, build each one out in the caliber/magwell combo they want, and leave them that way.
