It just snaps in to the two long oval shaped recesses on the side of the max 31 mk2. No tools required. Put it in to shoot s-zmags, pull it out to shoot drums. It is at my father in laws place, But I will continue to post pics as the project progresses. I’m pretty excited that this is going to be a good option. I really appreciate all that he has already put into it. If it works like I think, he will continue to work on it, to improve the aesthetics of it, and to cut down the production time (in order to make it viable from a cost perspective) for those of us who might want to purchase one (or 3)...

Yes, he designed it. He is a very talented designer/inventor. I showed him the upper on Thursday afternoon, and it’s already ready for testing. He has spent quite a bit of time on it over the weekend, making the finish better, and more will be required. But it is still quite amazing!!!

That's innovative...plus an awesome name for it! You guys should explore a conversion for other magazines as well.

That looks awesome. He did a good job. I love how it locks in, no moving parts.

I also made something similar in 2016. It turned the angled magwell perpendicular, so I could use unmodified Pam II, Zytel and Z-Mags. It clicked in using a modified grip. Mine was more crude but it worked. It also allowed a modified m-11/22 kit for the Max-31A.

Appreciate all the interest! Need to test it out first, and see what it takes to destroy one. I will continue to post as the project progresses....

I have a similar prototype for my Stemple. I have yet to figure out how to attache it to the gun. It's amazing how little is required to funnel the magazine.

We did a little testing. He printed the adapter up in several different materials, and after a torture test on the variations, we believe we have found the perfect flexible nylon material, which allows for easy installation and removal. Seems to function well, and survived some significant abuse. When we get some more of the material, several will be made up for further testing.

How is the wear on the upper from taking this on/off ?

    Very smart idea.

The material is a flexible nylon. On the hard coat anodizing on the Lage upper, I’m not seeing any at this point. I already have some marks on my upper from mag/drum changes while competing. I suppose if one was concerned about keeping a pristine finish on the upper, one could use blue tape on the upper when installing?
